Why Am I Hated?

Chapter 3

Ryan

   I got a pleasant surprise with my sister playing Fire and Fury by Skillet in the morning. She was in the bathroom doing her hair while singing along with the song. I got out of my bed and walked to the door and started singing with her.

"Let it all fall down to dust. Can't break the two of us."

"Oh, shut up. You like them too."

"Oh, come on. My heart hurts. My heart hurts for you." I said smiling while I sang the lyrics again. Lillian just shoved my shoulder smiling at me. I looked at what she was wearing.

"Oh, girlfriend, no no no." I said in my best gay boy voice. She was showing off too much skin with her red tank and ugly booty shorts.

"What?" she looked at me weird while I went to her closet and grabbed more appropriate clothing.

"Change. I don't want those pigs staring at you." I handed her a blue and white striped shirt and some faded blue jeans. She rolled her eyes and went back into the bathroom.

"Oh, I get it now." I leaned against the bathroom's door frame. "You're trying to get Erin to notice you right?" Lill just glared at me with a blush growing in her face. "Awwww, Lill's got a massive crush on her." I slapped my hands to my cheeks and smiled at her like an idiot.

"Ryan get out. I have to change." she pointed to my room. I stepped away from the door and walked back to my room. I went to my closet and pulled on a gray v-neck short sleeve shirt, some khaki cargo shorts, and slipped into a pair of black Vans. I walked out just in time to see Lill come out of the bathroom. She gave me a 'I need a talk' look. I frowned and followed to her room where she sat on her bed. I closed her door behind me and sat down next to her.

"What happened?"

"Parker texted me."

"What did he say?"

"That he still loves me and he wants me back. I don't know what to say to him Ryan." she looked and me with a pleading face. I hate what he did to Lill. He dated her, said that he loved her, then just threw her off to the side like a piece of wet bread after seeing the new girl. When he dumped her, she instantly came to me and we talked as she cried. Once she fell asleep, I went to him and beat the crap out of him. Lill didn't like that I did it, but we both know she smiled when I told her. Now he's trying to squirm his way back into her life when she is finally getting over him.

"Don't say anything. Block his number. Then we are going to see Erin."

"What?! Why are we going to see Erin?" she looked at me shocked. I smiled at her and stood up then grabbed her hands.

"Because," I pulled her up, "you need someone to get your mind off this dumb ass." I walked out of her room when she blocked his number. I went back to my room and grabbed my phone off its charger then I called Erin. She answered on the third ring.

"Ryan?"

"Yeah. Hey can we meet up with you? Lill is in a bad mood that I can't get her out of. She needs her other friend to help her." she was silent for a moment.

"Uh, yeah. We got some time before school starts, meet me at McKnight Park over by the hospital."

"Thanks Erin. See ya there." I hung up and went to Lillian in the kitchen. She was eating an apple with some water in her other hand.

"Come on Lillian. We're meeting Erin over at McKnight Park. Grab me a banana." I went to the fridge and got a water while she gave me a banana. Then got our skateboards. We kind of live on our own with both of our parents dieing from being in the army and navy. Our aunt takes care of us, but she is gone a lot because of her job. She does what she can for us and that's all we can hope for.
