Jah sat outside of his mother's house on the steps, taking hits off his almost finished blunt. As he exhaled some smoke, he noticed Shawn walking towards him with a duffle bag wearing a huge grin on his face. He was confused and thought the weed he was smoking was playing tricks on him— But it wasn't.
"What's up man?" Shawn greeted as he got closer to him. He extended his hand to give Jah some dap. Jah returned his dap lazily and killed his blunt off.
"Nun much nigga," he replied, eying at the duffle bag that was in his hands. "What is that?"
Shawn smirked and placed the bag gently on the ground before he replied. "Some bread."
Jah raised an eyebrow and looked at his homeboy up and down. "You back?"
"Yeah, nigga I'm back. Blizzy is back."
He frowned. "Why you brought this over here then?"
"Nigga it's for you," Shawn replied, chuckling dryly. He picked up the heavy duffle bag and placed it in front of Jah.
Jah looked at Shawn before cautiously unzipping the bag. He saw multiple stacks of hundreds. It had to be at least 40 grand.
"How much is this?" He asked, zipping the bag back up.
"It's about 40 grand."
"And all of this is for me?" Jah asked again, still skeptical.
"Yes nigga."
"Why you giving me all this bread for?"
Shawn scoffed and rolled his eyes, then took a seat next to Jah on the steps. "You my nigga right?"
Jah looked at him, dumbfounded. "Of course nigga."
"You've been down for me since day one. Take it as a token of appreciation. Plus, I know yo' OG been struggling with some shit and you been occupied, so I wanted to help y'all out."
It was true. Jah's mother was a sick and fragile old lady. Being disabled didn't help her either. She mother wasn't working so she struggled with paying the house bills. At one point, she was almost evicted for a late payment and put out on the streets. Shawn couldn't stand seeing that, so he decided to help.
"Wow, I don't even know what to say," Jah said truthfully. He didn't expect Shawn to do something like this for him. "Thanks man, I appreciate it."
He nodded his head and waved his hand as he stood up. "Nah, you don't gotta foo."
Chuckling, Jah stood to his feet and dapped him. "I still do bruh. I see the game already treating you well."
Shawn stuffed his hands into his hoodie and shrugged. "You know how I do. I'm trynna get this bread stacked all the way up. I'm making bigger moves."
Jah nodded his head. "I feel you bruh. You gonna have a family and shit now, that's one of the moves."
"Yeah, it is."
"You told yo' girl you was back in the game or no?"
Shaking his head, Shawn replied. "No."
Jah scrunched his eyebrows together in confusion. "Why you ain't tell her?"
"Why I gotta tell her?"
"Ain't that yo' girl? You gotta be one hunnid with yo' partner at all times."
Shawn felt shafted by that comment Jah made. It threw him all the way off. He clenched his fists and took a deep breath. He knew that he was his homeboy and was trying to see where his head was at, but at the same time, he was talking way too much and needed to mind his own business.
"Number one, I don't want her to start stressing over that shit again because she's pregnant," Shawn said firmly, using his fingers as visuals. "Number two, I don't want our relationship to be all fucked up again. She honestly don't need to know how I'm making my money. All she gotta know is that I'm riding and providing for her and our baby that's gonna come."
Jah put his hands up in a surrender. "I ain't trynna come at you bro or tell you what to do, but I'm just trynna see where yo' head is at. Last thing I want is my homeboy to do is fuck his relationship up or lose something special he had."
"I understand bruh," Shawn said, stroking his goatee. "But listen, I'm gonna go. Gonna take my girl out for some food."
"Alright take it easy."
Walking in the direction of his parked car, Shawn was still in deep thought. He wondered why Jah asked him that and made the comment he did. Sure, they were close, but Shawn always stuck to himself and didn't really confide in many people about his business.
Starting the car, he drove around a Nissan that was parked in front of him and in the direction of his house.

"Baby, where were you?" Moni asked him as he stepped in through the front door. She was wearing one of his oversized true religion shirts and her hair was thrown into a messy side bun.
"I went over to Jah's crib to go give him something," he answered as he continued walking. Making his way up the stairs, Moni trailed right behind him.
"You sure bae?" She asked, looking him up and down cautiously. He never cheated on her and she knew he wasn't that type, but people change so she had to make sure.
Pleased that he had no suspicious marks on his body or smelled of cheap perfume, she smiled to herself. Shawn noticed and laughed lightly.
"Yes, babygirl. You ain't never gotta worry about me cheating or nothing. I had to give Jah some money that's all."
"Money for what?" She probed.
"His OG going through some shit and he's been occupied so I decided to help out."
"Oh ok," She replied softly.
"Anymore questions police?" He playfully asked.
Moni rolled her eyes and scoffed. "No."
"Good," Shawn said as he stepped closer towards her, grabbing her face gently with his hands. He placed a kiss on her lips then nose. "Get ready in 30 minutes, we going out."
"Okay baby," She replied. Shawn removed his hands from her face and walked out of the bedroom and to the other bathroom that was downstairs.
Moni slowly walked into the bathroom, closing the door behind her. She stripped out of the shirt and panties she was wearing and stepped into the shower. Adjusting the water to the right temperature, she began cleaning herself.
After her shower, she stepped out and walked into the bedroom. She scanned the closet for something to wear. Her eyes landed on a mint, floral Chiffon dress. Moni grabbed it and placed it on the bed. Not wanting to wear heels or wedges, she settled on the Hartley Metallic sandals she had.
Moni quickly grabbed the flat iron then straightened her hair until it was bone straight. Happy with her appearance, she stood in front of the full body length mirror to check for any flaws. She looked at her stomach and rubbed it.
"You done feeling yourself?" Shawn asked playfully as he stepped into the room. He was wearing a black Gucci leather jacket, black leather pants, and some loafers.
Embarrassed, Moni's cheeks began to redden. "Yes, now let's go baby." Moni quickly grabbed her cream colored clutch and walked over to him.
Shawn grabbed her hand and the two walked out of the bedroom and out the front door towards his Mustang, unaware of the drama that was going to come their way tonight.
