I woke up in my bed feeling very tired but confused.
"I don't remember going to bed..." I muttered as I left my room.

"Morning Raiden! Mai left yesterday but she said she would keep an eye out for us!" Kaiyo smiled as she held the malfestio.

"I should think of a name for the malfestio since I intend on keeping them... Any ideas?" I asked thinking of a name.

"Azure?" Kaiyo suggested after thinking a while.

"Wait I know, Aozora." Kaiyo nodded at my idea and Aozora looked at me and squeaked.

"Aww... Now I want one... What monster do you think would suit me?" Kaiyo asked passing me Aozora.

"From what I know about you so far... I would say rather gammoth or Nargacuga but I still don't know that much about you so ask me later on and I might have a different opinion."

"Alright. What do you want to do today?"

"Hmm... Maybe look for the lost tribe or just look for trouble." I shrugged as I wrapped a blanket around my chest to hold Aozora with.

"The village one sounds good, what kind of monsters are around here anyway?" Kaiyo asked as she grabbed her great sword.

"Easy stuff... Maccao, jaggi and the odd large monster like malfestio."I explained as I took my long sword and left. "See that huge tree?"

"Umm, yep!" Kaiyo took a second to look where I gestured to and saw a huge tree protruding from the forest.

"That's where we're going, once we are there we will see if there's anything there." I explained as we walked. "It should take until around tomorrow to get there at fastest and I have camping equipment and supplies to last us a week then we have to get more which is easy."

Kaiyo was patently listening and nodding. "So if we find this place you can get me like you?"

"Depends... But that is possible if everything wasn't incinerated..."

It was around six hours of walking before we took a rest in a small clearing and we set up camp, a tent, fire and a log to sit on.

"Not the most luxurious camp but it will do..." I sighed as I checked on Aozora who began squeaking. "You must be hungry. Sorry about only having one tent... I don't usually have others joining me." I chopped up some smoked fish to feed Aozora and talked to Kaiyo.

"Its fine! I'm used to having to share a tent, after all the hunters life isn't one known for luxury is it?" She joked as she poked the fire with a stick.

"I guess not... This mask gets quite stuffy after a while..." I removed my mask and took a deep breath. I looked over at Kaiyo who was staring and looked away when she noticed me.

"S-sorry I'm still not used to seeing you..."

"Its fine... Better to get used to it now instead of always staring." I laughed as I rubbed my jaw that had purple scales along it.

Kaiyo took a second to inspect me closer, I could even tell what part she looked at, first my purple and yellow eyes, second my sharp teeth that hung just at the edges of my mouth, third the scales that covered my neck but became less common as the trailed up the sides of my face and she finished by looking at the spikes on the sides of my head and neck.

"Its so... Odd I guess but at the same time amazing..." She muttered poking the spikes.

"Have you ever seen a chameleos in person?" I grinned.

"Only a few pictures and even those were bad drawings." She sat back and sighed.

"Then I imagine you at least know about... These!" I quickly removed my black under shirt and revealed two purple wings.

"Whoa... Can you fly!?" She jumped up and down in excitement.

"A little but I need this first." I showed my tail that I had camouflaged with my leg. "Ok time to fail badly... Maybe I can teach Aozora to fly one day!" I looked to Aozora who was sat in a bundle of blankets next to Kaiyo.

I took a deep breath and walked a few meters away then pushed my wings down as hard as I could and repeated this in an attempt to fly. After a few seconds of feeling light I finally lifted off the ground as I jumped, it was very hard to keep up but I managed to rise above the tree line and began to glide in circles around the clearing hearing Kaiyo cheer me on before I let myself fall at a speed where i wouldn't break my legs on impact but I tripped onto my face as I landed.
"Best flight I've ever had!"

"It wasn't exactly rathalos flight but that was amazing!" Kaiyo helped me up.

I felt a little dizzy but Kaiyo held my arm to steady me but then I nearly fell over Kaiyo caught me but we fell over a root and we tumbled to the ground. After a second my vision stopped spinning as I focused on Kaiyo's face below me and the fire being the only light flickered making her face look even better and we just stared at each other before realising what we were doing and we both looked away and blushed.
"A-ah s-sorry about that..." I apologized before standing up and helping her as well.

"I-its alright..." Kaiyo looked away and just played with her hair as we sat down in awkward silence and the rest of the night went like that...
