Chapter 7

Me, Kaiyo and Mai headed off for the closest guild hall for a physical.

"I don't like this at all..." Kaiyo muttered while outside the main gate.
The only way we managed to conceal Kaiyo was with a huge cloak and it only barely covers her wings and tail.

"Your physical is ready. Who would like to go first?" The guild doctor asked in a calm tone, they was a female but I imagine that there was both male and female inspectors to avoid any mishaps.

Just as I was about to go first Kaiyo spoke up. "I-I'll go first." She trembled a little before taking a deep breath and walking along into a back room.

Me and Mai sat in silence and anticipation... 1 minute... 2 minute... 3 minu-

A shocked shout echoed through the near empty room and I sighed and waited.

After another ten minutes passed and I began to panic at the complete silence and the few others in the room was also staring at the door.

Finally the woman left the room with Kaiyo in tow. "Which one of you is Raiden?" The doctor asked sounding slightly shook.

A few people had built up the line and was looking at each other before I raised my hand... Everyone looked at me and I began to sweat.

"Your physical is r-ready." She shivered when I stood and began to walk to the door.

"So what do you know so far?" I sighed when I entered.

"W-well you have a... very interesting friend and she said you are the same... Don't worry we won't imprison you or anything like that." She giggled, clearly Kaiyo had asked already.

"Guess I might as well show then..." I muttered before removing the upper half of my armor and showing my wings and tail.

"... Chameleos... One of the only elder dragons we have yet to fully study..." She muttered to herself spreading one of my wings and running a hand across it.

"I uhh... Don't usually don't like people even seeing my wings never mind touching..." I grumbled uncomfortably.

"Oh, sorry. Just let me know if you feel uncomfortable." She smiled sheepishly but continued by examining my tail.

I stood there for a while as more and more scholars entered taking notes and sketches. After some time I grew very bored and entertained myself by letting my tongue drop then bringing it back like a noodle. First it only got to my chest, then my stomach, after my upper leg, then I let it go slack and caught it before it hit the floor. I looked to the scholars who was writing at speeds that made the paper look like it would go up in flames, they must have liked the performance...
I let out an evil grin and waited until I wasn't being watched and slapped a scholar with my tongue then began to whistle innocently when his head jerked up.

"Ok that's it! You can go now, have a nice day!" The doctor smiled and I signed heavily before putting my armor back on but keeping my helmet off.

"Finally... I don't have to wear a mask any more!" I sighed in content as I walked out to have everyone gawk at me. "There a reason your staring?" I grinned with my sharp teeth and they gulped and shuck their heads as I left.

"Took your time!" Kaiyo laughed waiting for me at the front gate.
"So... No more hiding?"

"Nope! But... Still be careful who sees you... Lot of creeps out there..." I frowned as we left the village.

"Yeah! Yeah! Let's go have fun!" Kaiyo smiled childishly before flying off, shocking everyone who saw it but I just shook my head before flying at insane speeds to shoot past her and slow down to fly with her.
"Thought you said you couldn't fly well!"

"I was tired! Let's go explore! Mai said she would look after Aozora for me." I relaxed to the wind and just glided with Kaiyo until we found a large village.

"As much as that is tempting... I'm already struggling to stay flying! Let's land at the lost village, grab everything and head back!" Kaiyo shouted through the whistling air and flapping wings.

"... Alright! Its only there, easy landing!" I spoke to soon as we stumbled and fell into the village instead.

I heard a loud thud and definitely felt it to my vision slowly faded from dark to find myself in a familiar position... On top of Kaiyo.
"See! Nice soft landing!... For me..."

"I'm getting this odd feeling of deja vu..." Kaiyo giggled as we got up.

Once we had grabbed everything we could we flew back to my house.
"I'm defiantly going to add some sort of research room for all this..." I muttered as we dropped a pile of papers and books onto my table.
"How's Aozora?"

"Hmm? Oh, she's been wonderful! She even let me feed her! Wish I had a malfestio..." Mai looked down at the sleeping Malfestio.

"Do you like malfestio?" Kaiyo asked collapsing into a chair.

"I love them more than anything!" Mai beamed with a huge smile.

"Good! We needed a test subject!" I grinned as I nearly dragged Mai outside.

"What are you doing!?" Mai asked surprised by the sudden move.

"Drink this if you want to be like this." I showed her wings and tail so she would understand. "But instead of like me..." I threw a few malfestio feathers into the pot with a puff of blue smoke. "Its malfestio. Before you drink it I need some blood..."

"Wait... So this can turn me into you... But malfestio and you need some of my b-blood?" She asked with a super confused expression on her face.

"Yep! Now put your hand out!" I ordered and she hesitated but did it, I quickly cut a finger and it bled only a few drops. "That's it! Now drink up!"

With that she dunked her head into the pot, unexpected and unnecessary but it works I guess... After a second she lifted her head up only to fall backwards onto the ground.

"Time to drag her back to bed..." I sighed as I put her in the guest room.

"So... She one of us now?" Kaiyo asked leaning against the door frame.

"Should be... I'm still testing it, after all there might be people who it doesn't work on. Of course I intend to make everyone, who wants to, like us but that could be more difficult then it seems... Let's just see what happens."

After that I began to make another cabin with this one being used for research into transformation...
