Mei x Reader

~(y/n) POV~
"And here's your change ma'am. Have a good day."

"Thanks, you too."

The lady lightly waves back before speed walking away. I look at the clock on my phone for tor the 20th time and see it's only been 10 minutes. Sighing I put on a smile to deal with the other customers until my shift was over.

"Hello sir, did you find everything you were looking for?"

"Yes, I di-"

*BOOM*

We see and hear a loud explosion from outside. While buildings begin to topple down. Everyone, myself included, try to evacuate the area. Screams fill the air as more explosions happen from all around us. I see a car zoom in front of the street, blocking off that escape route. We see people in red and black armor suddenly appear from all around us.

"Everyone get down now!"

A young girl, around the age of 8, started to cry as one of the Talon agents point their gun at her. Without thinking I rush over and cover her with my body. I hear the guns shots, I wait for the barrage of bullets, but I don't feel anything.

"Get out of there!"

I hear an older woman's voice as I look up. I don't pay attention to the woman but I see this giant ice wall blocking us from the Talon agents. I pick up the little girl and rush to an alleyway. I see that it's relatively empty aside from the other people hiding. I slightly shake as I see Overwatch agents and Talon agents battle each other.

"Hey! Everyone!"

I see the same woman from earlier, only now realizing that this is the Overwatch agent Mei Ling-Zhou. I watch as she aims her gun at the ground and shooting it. Instead of bullets, a giant ice wall appeared, effectively blocking off the Talon agents from us.

"There's a safer area, protected by Overwatch agents," she pointed to an area with multiple cars blocking off anyone or anything from getting into it, "over here. All of you need to get there quickly!"

I watched as everyone was scurrying to the safe zone, I follow holding onto the little girl until I see Mei rush to me.

"Look out!"

Almost in slow motion I look behind me and see a Talon agent shooting a rocket launcher, Mei shooting an ice shard from her gun, and the rocket flying past us both. I see the agent fall down and Mei face me with a horror filled expression. Without another thought I toss the little girl in my arm to Mei, who catches her, the rocket hits the side of the alley and the walls around me begin to crumble down. I curl up as I feel rubble hit my back.

"Sir!"

I feel the rubble pile up on my back as my vision goes hazy.

"Oh god, oh god. Please! Stay with me. I'll get you out of this, I promise......"

Her words become harder to understand as I feel myself get weaker with each passing second. I watch her poke something on her wrist and frantically call. I try to keep my eyes open but it's getting hard. I don't realize I closed my eyes but it feels blissful.

~Mei POV~
"Come on, come on."

I start to pace as I look at my com. I start to get more and more anxiety as I look back to the guy who looks like he'll pass out any second.

"Hallo?"

"Angela! Please you need to come to my location right away! There's this guy whose lost a lot of blood and I fear he's going to die and please! He saved this little girl without thinking for himself!"
