Chapter 11
"Ma'am, pinatawag niyo daw po ako?"
"Ah, yes. Please be seated. I have an important news to you."
Ano kaya iyon?
"Your book before your latest one becomes bestselling book and there's a high demand for it to be adapted in a movie."
Napa-nganga ako sa sinabi ni Ms. Evangelista. Oh, my gee!
"Napag-usapan na ito ng mga nasa kataas-taasan and they approved to make it a movie," she said with a smile.
Kaagad akong napa-takip sa aking bibig. Oh, shocks! It'll be my second book to be adapted in a movie. Oh, goodness!
"Yes, ate?"
"Where are you? Can I meet you?"
"Huh? Why? Is it urgent?"
"Hindi naman. May gusto lang makipag-usap sa'yo," aniya.
"Sino?"
"You'll know when you get here. Asan ka ba?"
"Nasa bus na. Pauwi na sana."
"Oh.. I'll come to pick you up."
"Ay wag na ate. Ako nalang. Saan ba?"
Does ate set me up on a blind date?
He's not her boyfriend so who's he? She knows I hate blind dates. Dahil iyon sa nangyari sa akin noong college. Thanks to his brother who was there to save me.
"Hi. So I want you to meet Mikael Pascua," saad ni ate ng marating ko na sila.
"Hi. I'm Mikael Pascua. People call me Kael so you can call me in that name, too." The guy stood up and held out his hand for a shake.
"Hi. Aria Mercado," I responded and took his hand for a shake.
"He's an executive producer to where I'm working. He happened to read your books and wanted to meet you."
Nahihiya naman akong napa-ngiti. Alright, an executive producer is here to meet me and what next? It's an overwhelming feeling that someone is here to meet you because of your work.
"So as I was reading your books, I really enjoyed it."
"Thank you, sir."
"Oh, please drop the honorific. We're not yet co-workers."
Nangunot ang noo ko sa sinabi niya.
"Anyway, I liked your work of arts. It's interesting. The way and the techniques you used are very impressive and unique. So I want you to be one of our writers," he said directly with a smile.
