Quest For The Eye

CHAPTER 1: THE QUEST BEGINS

"Maria, where is my breakfast? I'm late. I need to open my shop!" shouted Bob. Maria was his well-suited wife. Both were tall and thin and had Brown/Black hair (Except that Maria's hair was obviously longer!). After giving up the power of the eye, the couple had shifted to Defenders where Bob had set up a weapons shop.

"Here you go, have a nice day," said Maria as she handed Bob a bowl of porridge.

Thanking her, Bob began to move out of the house. Seeing Deve sleeping on the couch, he woke him up saying-

"It's already nine, wake up from your slumber and open your eyes to the world. You should probably also get a job."

Deve was Bob's cousin. After the recent ban on fortune tellers, he was left helpless.

"Its all your fault, why did you have to conquer the Kings?" Yelled Deve. He always got angry when someone mentioned his job.

"You can always do something else. Fortune tellers were anyways a fraud" Replied Bob smirking. He knew that his cousin was not a fraud but something had to be sacrificed for the greater good.

It was getting late. Just as Bob was closing the shop, a man entered.

"Give me the Eye," He said as he unsheathed his sword. It was a gold blade encrusted with rubies on the sides. One that only the Kings could possess.

"I don't have it. I let it go after the four treaties" admitted Bob as he backed away.

"LIAR!" Yelled the intruder as he lunged at Bob with his sword. Bob grabbed a dagger from the table and blocked the blow, sidestepped and stabbed him in his right shoulder which caused him to drop the sword. The man made an effort to kick Bob aside as he reclaimed his sword. Somehow, the wound had healed itself. Bob hid.

"Come out! My friends and I will soon find you. There is no use of hiding." He proclaimed as he moved around the shop.

Suddenly Bob smashed into the attacker, shield in hand. By the blow, he was knocked out. He tied him up and called for the guards. Bob realized that the kings were angry. He had to do something. He decided that it was best to consult the King or should I say ex-King of the Defenders. Maybe he could provide some advice.

Deve, as always, was sleeping when he heard the scream.It was Maria, she was in trouble. He quickly but quietly made his way to the kitchen, from where the sound had come from. A burly man held her with a dagger to the throat. He was whispering something in her ear. Even though Deve hated Maria, he knew that he had to do something. before he could make a move, someone caught him and put pinned him to the table.

  "Don't interfere or I shall take your life" threatened the captor. Just as he said that his head fell to the ground and with the same speed, Maria's captor was also beheaded. Unlike Deve, Bob was a skilled swordsman. He sheathed the gold sword which he had decided to keep. 

"Come, both of you, we're going to meet the king," He said "Something must be done.

"Its nothing of concern. Just some angry people. I'll position some guards around your house." Said The King cooly. Even after giving up his throne, he hadn't seized to behave like a king. By 'I'll position some guards', he meant 'You should position some guards'.

"But the man healed..."

"It's nothing, you're seeing things"

"Brandus, one does not simply grow back a head," said Bob sing the king's full name to get his attention.

"Look at this," said Bob showing Brandus the sword he had taken from his attacker.

"God," exclaimed Brandus, awestruck. " This is the sword of the King of Goltrionist Empire. Why is it with you?"

"The man who attacked my carried this. I knew it was serious when I saw it."

"You must go and find the Eye again. That's your only hope. I believe that the kings have united under Mulglashr. You must go now before they find it."

Mulglashr was the King of the Deathsert, the king of the Demons.

"Here take this," said the King handing Bob a sword. It was golden not unlike the other sword, but this one was far more majestic. It had an eye on its hilt "This will help you in your quest for it is the sword of the Eye. Also, you must take Maria and Deve along as they shall aid you in your quest"

"Where shall we go? Where do you think the eye will be?"

"You must go southeast. First, cross the great range. Then the Supreme River. You must then make your way through the forest of the little hoppers. Finally, after crossing the radiation pond, you must enter the Deathsert. But before you enter the Deathsert, you must obtain a radiation charm which will protect you from the radiation of the Deathsert and preferably, a disguise. There you must locate The Tower. It's hard to miss but hard to enter. It is heavily guarded by a force loyal to the Eye. Once you reach the top, you'll find a glass box contained within the Eye. Try summoning it. Then you must do what has to be done. My blessings are with you."
