I love the strips of sunlight
that shine through my shutters
and decorate my floor
in dripping rows of glow

but I love them more when they're on you
and they wrap around your body
embracing you with warm ropes
of the intangible, beautiful kind

chin tilted towards the window
the soft smile in your cheek
I wish I could charm
like those stripes of warmth

when you dance, they move with you
paint you with sublime
a spotlight built for your form
in any shape you take

I wish I was bendable
flexible like light
then I think we'd go together
much better than lines of bright
