9. Trust

Damon promised Stefan to talk to Klaus about not killing Elena. How was he gonna do that? He had no idea. If his luck was better...

He headed to Ric's apartment as Klaus was there. He hoped Elijah was there too. He knocked the door lightly. Kathrine opened the door.

The woman who destroyed him was here. Fine, he accept that he was also a fool to be destroyed by a whorepire. He wasn't feeling anything for her because this woman... He'd better slice her and feed her heart to herself and toture her in ways that no one can ever imagine. He spit out her name like he's spitting vervain even if was looking at her after hundred and fourty five years.

Damon- Kathrine.
Kathrine- Damon.
She grinned at him and he walked past her.

Klaus was there in Ric's body. He was getting ready for the dance party.
Damon- Nik.
Klaus- you're here.
Damon- Kathrine is here. You didn't told me.
Klaus- I don't want her anywhere near you, or your brother. If it was in my hands, I wouldn't let Elena stay with Stefan either.

Kathrine- missed me?
Klaus- you will shut up and sit quietly.
Kathrine obeyed.
Damon- Stef... He said is there a way that you can let Elena live?
Klaus-you know, I can do something for you. A favor sort of. I will kill Elena and compel that kid to forget who Elena was.
Damon- so what should I tell him?
Klaus- you should know how to handle him.

Damon was back at home when Scooby gang were having their stupid meeting.
Damon- don't stop on my account.
Stefan- what did they say?
Damon- I don't know.
Stefan- you didn't tried!
Damon- I did, but he refused.

Stefan- you are lying.
Damon- I'm getting tired of this Stefan.
Stefan- no! I love her Damon and...
Damon- I know... But there is nothing I can do about it.
Stefan- you're lying. I know why...that promise and all. I get it.
Damon- it's not like that.

Stefan- oh yeah... may be the torture season 2.0 is still left. I get it.
Damon- this is annoying me now.
Stefan- oh me too. I was better away from you.
Bonnie- Damon, you should go.
Damon- this is my house!
Stefan- she's right. We have to fight our own battles on our own.
Damon- Klaus will kill all of you. He is going to break the curse and there is nothing you can do about it. So get that in your thick heads because he is not stopping at any cost this time.
Stefan- I don't need you.

Damon shakes his head and headed upstairs to his room. These were stupid children. Klaus is million times stronger than them and they won't listen to him. Well, it was better since he doesn't care. Let him try and do whatever they want. He will enjoy the show from the front seat.

Damon was pacing when front door opened. Elena and Stefan walked in.
Damon- how was dance?
Stefan- stay out of it.
Elena- Bonnie...
Stefan- Elena you need to let me explain...
Elena- there is nothing to explain.

Stefan- Elena...
Elena slapped him.
Elena- my friend is dead. My best friend is dead.
Damon- I told you.
Stefan- leave us alone.
Damon- gladly.
He walked upstairs listening to what teenagers were talking.

Stefan- Elena, it is okay. Wait.
He opened the laptop screen and Bonnie was online as Elena smiled.
Stefan- Klaus thinks she's dead and now she isn't.
Elena- thank you.
Stefan smiled.

Damon rolled his eyes at that. He texted Klaus that Bonnie was alive. He was betraying his brother? No! He wasn't. He was looking out for him. Yeah it is a bad way but.. he's the adult here and it was his job to look after that kid. Stefan will be mad and upset, but he'd be okay and that is all that matters. How good he was sounding. If he was human, surely he would be suffering from sugar disease.

Damon was sipping coffee watching TV and flipping channels because this days, TV sucks! They never put anything good to watch. He didn't wanted to see any boring TV show or movies which he have seen for million times. He stopped at a cartoon channel. Huh! Shin Chan! Five years old kid who is notoriously notorious. Not to forget he was a flirt at a age of five.

Stefan entered his room with a bunch of papers.
Stefan- Damon.
Damon looks at him.
Stefan- can you sign this?
Damon- what is this?
Stefan- deed of this house. Isobel said...
Damon- Isobel?
Stefan- Ric's wife. She said we can make safe house for Elena.
Damon- and it has to be this?
Stefan nodded.

Damon- fine. But here is the thing, I'm not needed and you don't need me. Why don't you do it?
Stefan- it's yours.
Damon- yeah. But I remember you said I should stay away.
Stefan- you're doing it or not?
Damon- I'd do it. Give it to me.
Stefan handed the papers to Damon.

Damon- I need pen for signing these papers.
Stefan handed him a pen which he was holding in his hands.
Damon looked up at Stefan from his seat before signing the documents.

Damon- I'm saying this again baby brother, this is a suicide mission for you.
Stefan- I'll at least die saving someone.
Damon- what about me?
Stefan- you never wanted me anyway.
Damon- I apologized.
Stefan- I know.

Damon signed the papers and watched as Stefan left. His brother was being a love sick fool. They all were fools. Idiots, bunch of idiots. Some stupid safe house isn't gonna stopping the soon to be hybrid from finishing the ritual.

Stefan and Elena entered home from the school. Stefan asked Elena to sign the documents from her side.

That night, Damon arrived back from wherever he was drinking. He tried to walk in but an invisible barrier stopped him.
Damon- Stefan!
Stefan and Elena walked in.
Damon- I'm tired and drunk. I need to hit the bed. Let me in.

Stefan- Elena.
Elena- I don't trust him.
Stefan- neither do I, but he's my brother and he signed this house to you even though he's against you.
Damon- see, I'm a very good manpire.
Elena- no. I don't trust him.
Damon- you gotta be kidding me. Stef, your girlfriend is annoying me. She's pissing me off.

Stefan- Elena. Just let him in.
Elena- he will have to promise me to follow what the owner says.
Damon- she's kidding right?
Elena- no. I'm not. This is my place now and you are not trust worthy person.
Damon- because I am a vampire. If you don't let me in, then your family is the first thing I kill. I'm not a person to mess with kid, trust me. Stefan, tell her, she have exactly five seconds before I...

Elena- you're bluffing.
Damon- my ego is hurting.
Stefan- he's not kidding.
Elena- you can come in.
Damon walked in.
Damon- home sweet home. You saved yourself some from going shopping for a funeral dress and see some graves. Goodnight.
He smirked and left.

They were idiots and he wasn't gonna stay back and watch her order him around like this was her place. He was the one who was here when this mansion was built. It's his home. He's not letting some stupid doppelganger control him.

Hey! It's a long time. My exams just finished today. Before they start next week, I've got som time.
