I hold onto Chanly's mane as we gallop across the mighty Sahara desert. I hear Alisha's voice coming from him. "Julie.. Julie get up"Alisha says. Confused I hop off Chanly.
Pulling an apple out of my back pocket I feed it to him perplexed at how it could be Alisha.
I snap my fingers in-front of the his nose listening for her voice. Nothing.I bring my ear close to his mouth and again, no Alisha. Hmm maybe it wasn't real I think to myself. Climbing back into Chanly, we ride into the sunset, his cream coloured mane and tail whipping in the wind.
"Wake up Julie, you're gonna be late," Alisha says, pulling my covers away from my face.
"Nooo!" I groan and shove my head
underneath the pillow. I try and fall back asleep, if only to revisit my horse."I don't wanna go today, let's skip." I pull my covers back up to my face and pretend to fall back asleep.
"You wanting to skip school?" she says shocked, "I'd never believe the Julie Hanes I know to skip." She says clicking her tongue and again trying to take the covers away.
"I'm tired today, ok? I had a long night." I say, propping myself up on my elbows so I can see her better.
Alisha wears a pale purple crop top with a pair of tight blue jeans, going delightfully with her natural dirty blonde hair. The crop top covers most of her stomach, showing only her belly button. She paired it with all white converse shoes and a shiny Micheal Kors white purse. Her outfits are always flawless. She is one of the most fashionable people I know.
She sees me looking at her outfit and does a little spin.
"Cute right?" I nod, "that's what I thought! I was going to go with the black purse but I thought white would go perfectly with my shoes."
She comes to sit on the side of the bed and notices the picture on my nightstand. Matt and I took it last night right after the movie. We are hugging and our faces are bright in cheesy grins. I was feeling like I could do anything in that moment. It was one of those kind of movies that made you feel unstoppable.
In the background you can see some man in the funniest position ever. His mouth is open in a yawn and he looks so weird. That was another one of the reasons I put it up on display.
"Oh of course! I forgot that was last night! So, what'd you and Matt do?!"
I groan, "Nothing I swear, we just went and watched a comedy, not romantic or anything. As friends and nothing more. Now stop trying to shove him on me and get out. Can't you see I'm trying to sleep over here?" I said exasperated, trying to crawl back under the covers.
"Oh my Julie," she sighs, "I hoped I didn't have to do this." She gets up from my bed, her purse shining from the sun coming through the window, and rips the covers completely off. She then walks over to the window and props it open letting the cool spring air in.
"What the heck Alisha!" I shiver, trying to reach the covers on the floor. I extend my arm as far as it will go and yet I can't bend my body or reach enough to get them.
Giving up, I roll over to check the time.
"You've got to be kidding me, it's 6:23! School starts in 2 hours!"
"Hahah oh really? Whoops! April fools!" She jumps onto my bed and starts tickling me.
"Ahhh, hahah! Stop that!" I push her off the bed, get up and throw my Greys Anatomy sweater on."You want to play that game huh? Well, get ready." A devilish smile spreads across my face.
"You better watch you back Alisha. April fools doesn't end until tonight."She looks my way and tries to suppress her laughter. "Hahah, you are so funny! You know you can't scare me, and yet you still keep going for it. I would keep trying though, it may happen eventually." She smirks and makes her way towards the door.
