Chapter 1 - A New Rival
*Barbara's POV*
I starred at the ceiling for a couple more seconds before deciding I really did have to go to school. No more slacking. The past was the past and I had to stop thinking about it and move on. I grabbed my bag and looked at myself in the mirror.
Eh what's the point?
I headed out the door and began my walk to school. Once I was there it didn't take long to find one of my friends. I watched her from far away. Apparently Johanna had started an argument with, SURPRISINGLY a thinner girl than her, and that's saying something. Jo was getting angrier by the minute and her skin tone began matching her red hair. I started making my way down to them just in case things did get out of control. The blond that was wrapped up in this fight with Jo was not backing down. Her blue eyes yelled "get out of my way" and I was starting to see some movement going on. The blond reeled back to slap Johanna, but I blocked her hit by taking her bony little arm firmly.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you" I said menacingly. She yanked her arm away and gave me a shove. Fail. With that strength she couldn't push an escaping baby back into her crib. I'll show her what a shove is really like. I reeled back and -
"BACK OFF!" I was taken aback by a real shove. I stopped to look who it was. A girl had stepped in the blonds spot and boy did she look mad.
"Who the hell are you?!" I asked eyeing the girl in front of me. Dark brown hair, green eyes, average height, long legs...Nice curves... Whoa. Stop it barb, focus!
"Kylee"
"Well, Kylee... Move!"
"Not a chance!" My patience was running low. I looked at the blond girl behind her.
"You're lucky your friend saved you, next time be a little more careful who you start fights with" with those last words I walked away dragging Jo with me. Once we were out of that I turned to look at Jo.
"What was that all about?" I asked her
"Nothing"
"Jo-"
"It's nothing barb! Can we just forget it? Please?" she looked at me. I would've said yea, but something caught my eye...
"Is that a scar on your cheek?" I asked. Johanna's eyes grew with fear
"No! It's nothing!"
"Who did that to you??"
"Nobody barb please don't do anything" she cried. I knew the blond didn't lay a finger on her. That only left one person..
"Michael..." the minute I said his name I knew it. I knew it was him. I turned and began walking faster, with Johanna crying for me to let it go right behind me. No one was going to stop me now. By God I was tired. Her useless boyfriend had to learn. If his parents hadn't taught him not to hit women then I sure as hell will LOVE giving him his lesson. I stormed into the cafeteria and found him.
"HEY ASSHOLE!" I yelled making so many heads turn. He saw me but didn't have time to prepare himself. I threw a punch straight to his nose and he fell to the floor. His blood dripped onto his shirt. I grabbed him by the collar and punched him repeatedly until an officer pulled me back.
"You ever touch her again, and I swear Michael I'll kill you!" he flipped me off.
At the office, a frantic Johanna was sent home, Michael was suspended from school for 3 days, and I had in school suspension for a whole week due to all my absences in the past. But I didn't care. The same officer who pulled me from ripping Michael apart escorted me to my homeroom. I looked at his name tag. Officer Truman.
"Are you new here?" I asked trying to ease the awkward silence between us
"Yes" he said
"Ouch, you must hate it already" the officer chuckled
"Nope, I've seen worse, you're a real tough young lady, but if I were you I'd focus more on those books"
"Yea, yea, they all say the same" I waved him off and entered my class. English with Mr. Mathews. After taking a look at my schedule he hesitantly looked at me.
"Sit in the second row, third desk and start writing down the notes that are on the board" I took my schedule back from him and found my desk. I pulled out my notebook, but could not find a single pen, anywhere.
"Hey can I borrow a pen?" I said to the girl next to me not looking at her
"Screw you" she whispered. I turned to look at her slowly
"Excuse me??" her hair covered her face, but then she looked up at me
Kylee...
"You're excused" she smirked
