Chapter 2 - Finding Help In The Dark
*Barbara's POV*
Of all the people in this school...
"That's rude" I huffed
"You should know" she said
Great and I still had no pen. It had been just over 2 hour since I promised myself that I would get my priorities straight and so far I had managed to get myself in to two fights and earned myself a new rival. I sighed loudly. This is Karma. But just when I was beginning to call it quits I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see Ariel Velts. She handed me a pen and giggled
"Already causing trouble I see" she smiled
"I invented trouble" I said flashing her my best smile. She twirled her blonde curls and laughed quietly at what I said. Ariel was pretty alright. Really pretty... Ugh. What am I thinking? I know better than to want to fool around with Ariel...again. It had been hard enough to get her to stop acting like a jealous girlfriend when we weren't even a couple, and sometimes you could still feel the tension between us. Nah, if I was going to have fun it would be with someone who knew, I meant no strings attached.
*Kylee's POV*
It was unbelievable. Not only was that Barbara girl in my English class but I also had two other classes with her, Drama and Geometry. It didn't even matter if I didn't talk to her because if she was in the class, someone was already talking about her. I didn't know if the rumors about her were true, but from what I saw today, she sure was proving them right. When school was out, I went home and then headed out to the diner were I worked my night shifts. The Diner was busy as usual and families, teens, couples, and even single workers had filled the diner to its max.
"George! I don't think we can handle so many people" I yelled over the 80's music playing from the stereos.
"Just do what you can hun and me and Alicia will try to speed up the orders" George and Alicia were a couple in their late 20's that had moved into town about 4yrs ago. They were nice enough to let me have the job, and I was grateful for that.
"Hey waitress!" one of the workers called out to me. I walked up to their table with my pad and pen.
"Welcome to G&A Diner, what would you like to have this evening?" the man raised an eyebrow and looked at me.
"They have such a sexy little lady like yourself running orders, I might just come here every day now" he chuckled. I ignored his flirtatious remark
"We have a beef stew special for $4.99 only today, does that sound good?" I asked wanting to get this particular order over with.
"From you, anything sounds just right" he pulled me closer and grabbed my hips trying to get me to sit on his lap.
