Lance's POV

I woke up with a sudden wash of ice cold water. "Hey, wake up, you're getting my couch dirty" Keith said, slightly annoyed with a half empty bottle of water in his hand. I groaned ad responded quickly, "Keith, why the hell did you throw ice water on my face?!" I said, wiping the water from my eyes. "Didn't you say you were going to take me skating? It's almost 4" Keith said, ignoring my question. "Oh yeah, sorry" I said, slowly getting up from the couch. Keith was already changed into a dark red parka, a thin looking scarf, his gloves (can't get rid of those, huh?), baggy-ish jeans, and some sneakers.

I got up and trudged over to my room tiredly. To wake up, I put a small layer of ice on my face and eyes. I grabbed teal colored turtleneck sweater and I kept everything else I had on, with an addition of some gloves to make sure I accidentally don't freeze anything at the rink (it's a long story). I unfroze my face, grabbed my brush and quickly brushed through my hair. I walked out of my room to see Keith impatiently waiting by the door, tapping his foot slightly. I walked out the door to see my crumpled Frost clothes next to the door, I frantically picked it up, and before Keith could see it I literally threw the clothes out of the hall window.

"Lance, what are you doing?" Keith said, holding the apartment keys in his hand. "Nothing, I thought I saw a roach by our door, so I freaked out" I said, quickly making up an excuse for my behavior. "Oh, okay then." Keith said, looking back down at the lock to lock it. I take a quick glance to see where my clothes landed and saw they landed.. behind a dumpster, great. "You ready to go? I already notified an Uber to pick us up" Keith said, already walking away from me. I nodded quickly and went to walk by Keith.

"So, when did you wake up exactly?" I said, trying to start a conversation. "Around noon, I normally have a very strict work schedule, but my body kinda became relaxed around you so I slept in, I guess" He said looking down at his feet. I felt my hands become a bit cold underneath my gloves and I quickly placed them in my jacket pockets. "Okay, so how did you get frostbite again?" I said, looking at him chuckling slightly. At this point we were halfway to the first floor. "Some asshat kicked me down onto the freezing cold ice and I skidded across it, I couldn't move and people didn't really see me so they left me there" Keith said, looking anywhere except me. "Alrighty then, what about your family, you ever knew em'?" I said, bending over to look at his face. "Oh yeah, my mom's name is Krolia, she's in the army and is off on patrol right about now. My dad, uh, kinda died on duty, he was a firefighter and all, so I was put into foster care since my mom couldn't take care of me" He said, as if it was a casual occurrence to speak about childhood pains. "Oh, well that's sad.. Hey, you okay?" I said, looking at Keith in the eyes, his dark violet eyes seemed to radiate sadness and regret. "Oh, yeah, I'm fine. Hey, we're here" He said, pointing slightly to the black mini cooper, I immediately started to worry about my legs.

I got into the car and it was surprisingly big, Keith sat next to me. "Hello gentlemen, where are we headed?" A man with an extravagant ginger mustache said to me. "Nalquod Ice Palace, please" I said, leaning forward slightly to talk to the man, smiling nervously. The rest of the drive was filled with weird questions from our driver, who is apparently named Coran and knows Keith, because of Coran knowing Keith, our ride was free. "Thanks Coran, you sure you don't want us to pay?" Keith said, leaning down from the curb to talk to Coran. "Oh, it's fine, you'll have to work overtime though!" Coran said, unusually excited, Keith groaned at that. Keith shut the door to the Mini sluggishly, his shoulders drooping a bit. He turned around, grabbed my arm and dragged me inside the rink.

We were immediately enveloped in the cold air in the building and I spotted a very bored looking teenager sitting at the front desk. Her pink hair looked frozen still with hairspray, and she had on earrings and a choker, she also seemed to have a shirt that depicted that she had multiple, alien like arms coming from her sides. Keith and I walked up to the woman, "Hello there and welcome to Nalquod Ice Palace, how can I help you today..?" She said, groaning and sighing throughout her words. "Two for public skate please" I said, as nicely as I could. She held out her hand as she printed out the ticket, I handed her a 20 and said a small 'keep the change', she perked up a little at that. She handed the wristbands to us and we walked off to go get our rentals. I told Keith to take off his shoes and we walked over to the rental area. "A size 10 in mens and a--" I was cut off, "A size 7 in mens, please" I chuckled a little at that. The man handed us our skates and we quickly put them on, with my help for Keith since he apparently doesn't know how to tie skates.

I stood up with ease and walked around a little to get used to the skates feeling, I looked over at Keith to see he was gripping tightly to the thick pole next to the bench we sat on, I chuckled and pulled my phone out to take a photo. Since he was stuck to the pole, he couldn't grab my phone, so I took as many pictures as possible. I put my phone in my pocket and I walked over to Keith, smiling. "Alright, alright I'll help you" I said, a smile painted onto my face. I grabbed onto Keith's hands and told him to walk away from the pole, he wobbled a bit, but stopped after a while and started to leave me behind as he trudged to the rink. I quickly caught up to see the hilarious look on Keith's face as I saw his terrified expression as he stared at the few people on the ice. "C'mon Keith, I'll teach you, remember?" I said, grabbing both of his hands again. He nodded nervously and stood there waiting for me to get in front of him. I chuckled lightly and grabbed both of Keith's hands, and backed slowly out onto the ice.

As soon as Keith hit the ice, he wobbled horribly. "I gotcha, you'll be fine" I say, smiling reassuringly. I skated backwards on the ice, Keith's response to this was slowly sliding across the ice without moving his feet. I laughed at this, and instructed him to move his feet. "LANCE I'M GONNA FALL AND DIE" Keith said, trying to walk but ending up flailing his legs like an idiot. "Keith, you're not gonna die. You have to keep your balance and push your legs out like you're kicking something away on the ice, okay?" I said, looking behind me to make sure I won't hit anyone. "Can you skate around? I'll watch your feet and try to copy it" Keith said, determination in his eyes. I nodded, gestured to the wall for him to grab onto, and I skated around the rink gracefully. I purposely skated around small children to try to show off, while doing this I glanced at Keith. He was staring at my feet and basic figure intensely, he looked like a child trying to figure out how their mom cooks a thanksgiving meal on her own.

After a bit of skating around, I flew back to Keith to see this amazed look in his face. "Okay, I think I got it" He nodded reassuringly after that. I backed up a little to let him skate on his own in response to this. Keith pushed his right foot out and started turning a little, "OKAY, OKAY I'M DONE, I'M DONE" Keith shouted, waving his arms frantically. "Well, you're gonna go back on your own, I wanna skate around a little" I said, crossing my arms. "Lance, no" Keith stated, looking at me pitifully, I laughed at this. I skated backwards and waved at Keith, "Bye Keith~!" I said, drifting from Keith. He looked at his feet and he grabbed onto the wall like his life depended on it.

Unfortunately, Keith was able to make it back to the entrance of the rink. I eventually joined him, and we exited the building entirely. "I almost fell on my ass because of you" he said, poking my chest. I laughed again. "I'll call up Coran to come pick me up again since you're walking back to the apartment alone for that" Keith said, pulling out his phone. "No, Keith, c'mon man don't do this" I said, extending the O and the E in his name. "Fine, fine" Keith said, texting Coran to pick us up.

"Thanks, by the way" Keith said, "Thanks for what?" I responded. "For bringing me here, and for being my friend" Keith said, looking very interested in the concrete. "What do you mean?" I asked, slightly worried. "I usually push people away, but you don't give a shit, you're trying your best to be my friend, and I appreciate that" Keith said, looking at me smiling. "Oh, you're welcome then" I said, suddenly feeling bad for Keith. As if our conversation was on a timer, the familiar Mini Cooper pulled up, Keith and I jumped inside the car, gave Coran our address, then went home.
