Innocent Souls

Chapter 7

It didn't take long for Anna to gather all she needed from her cottage house in the woods and bring them to the castle. The offered her a room next to the Queen and Kings bed chambers where there is a door connecting between the both. Once Anna was settled in her room two days after she came to the castle she approached the King. "I still would need to leave to collect herbs and I also have patients in the kingdom that need me" Anna argued. "I said no you will not leave the Queens side" the King snapped back. Anna took a deep breath to cool her anger "your majesty the Queen will need her rest and some alone time from me that's when I can leave for a few hours to do what I need." King Richard glared at her his hands in his fist he started to pace. "Richard!" Theresa said in a firm voice. This made Anna and King Richard looked at Theresa with eyes wide and jaws dropped. "Richard this is enough Anna is already doing everything she can for me" Theresa eyes started to tear up. "But she also have other people she cares about too.. Your subjects need her help too" tears rolled down her cheeks. Anna just looked down knowing how hard it is on her, King Richard just walked over to her and held her. After holding his wife for what felt like hours he sighed "For my subjects take care of them." Anna gave a bow and left them alone and entered into her chambers. 

Her chambers was similar to the the royal chambers, she didn't have any animal pelts in her room for it made her feel uncomfortable. Out from the corner of the room Claude entered into the light. "Well, well, well what is a reaper doing here in the castle?" he said with a dark expression. "And what is an Angel doing here?" Anna spat back. Claude let out a deep laugh "How dare you talk to me like you are the boss of me low life" he said angrily.  Anna grew angry at him why does an Angle look down at her she knew he can't sense that she is a goddess. "I don't suppose you are here for the Queens soul so you can bring it to your master little pet" Claude said sly while tilting his head. Anna's eye began to twitch from the anger she felt inside "No I was told to be here because of what she asked" Anna said in a angry response. Anna did not want to expose her identity till she finds the whole truth on what was happening. "Tsk" Claude responded before the doors opened. Both Claude and Anna turned and saw the King standing there. "Claude what are you doing in here?" King Richard said when he saw Claude. "Your highness I was making sure Lady Anna was comfortable" Claude responded with a bow. Anna looked at Claude "Lady Anna" she said under her breath. King Richard nodded at his responded and turned to Anna. "I have calmed her down as I promise her you can leave to do what is necessary, however you must always ask permission before you leave and only after you have done everything that is needed done first" he said in a stern voice.  Anna just nodded and bowed. "Claude we have a meeting to attend to lets leave" King Richard said as he walked out of the room. Claude followed and did one look back with a glare before he closed the door behind him. Anna sighed when they left and ran her fingers through her hair "since when did angles get all high and mighty." 

Theresa popped her head into Anna'a room "sorry am I bothering you?" Anna jumped at the Queens little voice. "Oh your majesty you startled me" Anna said with a smile. "Oh please call me Theresa when we are alone" Theresa said while waving her hands in the air.  She started to wobble into the room, Anna walked over to her and assist her to a chair and table near her window. Once Theresa was seated Anna got some water boiling and started to mix up her home made tea. Once the tea was ready she place a cup in front of Theresa "This will give you energy" Anna sat down opposite from her with her cup. Theresa took a sip of the tea that she was given "it's delicious." Anna smiled at her comment and took a sip of hers as Theresa looked at her with wonder. "I didn't know gods and goddesses need to get and drink?" Theresa said with fascination in her eyes. Anna laughed at her question "We don't need to eat or drink but I enjoy the tastes of food and drinks." They both giggle and Theresa then looked down at her tea with sorrow. Anna sighed looking at her sad eyes "I know this is hard for you to go through but the King truly love you." Theresa though about it for a little while "He has been kind to me yes but he also threaten my family and.. Patrick" she started to sob. "I miss him so much" she continued with tears dripping down her cheeks. Anna looked down she felt so useless for the first time she did not know what to do or say. "How ever having Richard here is making me feel conferrable" Theresa mumbled. This made Anna smile and she placed her elbow on the table and placed her head in her hand. "He truly loves you like he has been hit by Cupids arrow" she said with a grin. Theresa looked at her blinking with confusion "who is Cupid?" Anna giggled "he is the god of Love he shoots people with arrows and they will full in love someone. Theresa looked a little sad "forced love." Anna shook her head "more like a humans wish when they are love sick." Theresa gave a small smile and then sighed "and why are you helping me with my last wish?" Anna was a little taken back by her question "well to be honest your baby will be the future that will bring back the balance." Theresa looked surprised by her answer "balance?" Anna looked at her with determination "there has been more deaths this past year then there has been life." Theresa felt a chill run down her spine and placed her hand on her stomach "and my child will save the balance?" Anna just nodded then she heard Claude walk down the hall shouting to one of the servants, Anna just rolled her eyes with annoyance. "I notice you and Claude don't like each other" Theresa noted. "No he should not even be here stupid angle" Anna spat. Theresa moth dropped open "a-an a-angle." Anna nodded with anger. "Does he know who you are?" Theresa said leaning in. "No he things I'm just one of my servants" Anna replied with a cheeky grin. Both of them laughed agreeing they do not like him.

After a while of talking Anna went quiet and the said "yes that's fine please come in." Theresa looked at her with confusion and then jumped and a man appeared next to Anna wearing a black robe with a black hood on. He removed his hood and placed his hand on his chest and bowed to Anna "Lady Death" he said with pride. He then looked over at Theresa and bowed to her as well "your majesty I apologies for intruding." Theresa just shook her head trying to find her words. "Theresa this is Geoffrey, Geff for short he works under me" Anna introduced them. "Hello nice to meet you" Theresa said with a smile, this made Geff smile back. "What is so important that you need to see me?" Anna said in a serious tone. Geff jumped a little at her tone "well my Lady we have a problem, Dawson was collecting a soul but he was attacked and the soul was taken." Anna slammed her hands on the table and stood up her eyes began to glow bright violet from her anger. Both Theresa and Geff stepped back with fear on there faces, Anna looked at them and then sighed placing her hand on her forehead. After a few minutes she walk over to Geff and placed her hand on his shoulder "sorry no one is at fault we all did not expect a soul to be swollen. How is Dawson?" Geff relaxed "He is fine, he was knocked out by spiritual power so he does not see what happened." Anna nodded at his response  "thank you, you may go and let Dawson know its not his fault." With that Geff bowed and vanished, Theresa was sitting there with a smile on her face. "What are you smiling at?" Anna asked with a grin. "Oh its just you seem very nice to them" Theresa answered with a warm smile. Anna smiled back "and you have a very innocent soul, and that my dear is a very good thing." 

After Theresa left to rest in her room Anna walked to her window and stared out with anger. "Who would steal a innocent soul?" Life said in Anna's head. "Yes who in deed?" Anna said with the anger burning in side of her.
