Innocent Souls

Chapter 10

It's been some time since the attack was made on Anna and the kingdom grew more dark and more souls have became corrupted. Anna tried to help people but everyone started to turn her away everyone started to look at her with fear. The weather grew colder and it has began to snow, Anna decided not to leave the castle in the end. She couldn't bare the looks she got and the feelings they gave off anger and fear.

She began to notice that Fredrick was avoiding her. She walked passed him through the hallways he never made eye contact he just bowed and walked off. "Well it seems you have frightened enough people to hate you, good job" Claude said behind her. Anna jumped at his sudden voice "I am glade your happy about it" she said sarcastically. Claude only giggled at her and before he could say anything a scream echoed through the halls. "Anna it's time" Theresa screamed. Anna looked at Claude and she could see that his face has paled "Go get the King" she ordered. Claude could only nod before running down the halls towards the Kings war room. Anna began to run down to Theresa's room "I'm on my way." When Anna reached the door she turned to one of the servants "I need blankets and a lot of them" she ordered. They nodded there head and ran to get supplies. When Anna entered the room she could see that Theresa water broke and she was already exhausted from going into labor. She was bent over the fireplace and her legs nearly giving out, Anna managed to catch her in time before she fell to the ground. "You need to try and walk to the bed" Anna started to say before King Richard busted in. When he saw Anna struggling to hold his Queen he rushed over and picked Theresa up. "Thank you please place her on the bed" Anna asked the King then the servant run in with the blankets. Anna just nodded to where she need the blankets on the floor next to the bed. "Your Majesty you will need to leave once your child is born you will be able to enter" Anna said pushing King Richard out. Once everyone leaves and its just her and Theresa she walks over to Theresa and prop up her legs and open then so she could see. Anna could see that Theresa was ready to push however she grew weaker by the second 'she is not going to make this delivery' Anna thought. She let out a big sigh "Sister I need your help" she asked out loud. Theresa looked at Anna with fear in her eyes she knew that she could not do this alone. Life appeared looking very concerned "yes sister I think I can help but you have to be the one to allow her to have her final rest." Anna nodded with a big gulp, Life pulled out a strand of hair out of her head and rapped it around Theresa wrist. After that Life left Anna to get to work, Anna walked over to Theresa and moved her legs so it would be easier for Anna and the baby. Anna gave a big smile "did you think of any names?" she asked trying to lighten the mode. Theresa nodded before screaming with the next contraction. "Okay ready when the next one comes in start to push" Anna said placing Theresa feet on her shoulders. Theresa nodded, she was breathing heavily due to the pain. "Considerate on your breathing and your body will do the res.." Anna was cut off. "Arrrrrggggghhhhh.." Theresa scream. "Good now push" Anna said. 

After an hour of pushing Theresa was getting too tired "I can't do this anymore" Theresa cried. Anna looked at her with determination "yes you can Theresa, she is nearly here just keep going." Theresa eyes where full of tears she couldn't stop "what name did you pick?" Anna said with a smile. Theresa look at Anna and quietly said "Gwendoline, Gwen for short." Anna looked at her and smiled with tears in her eyes"that is a beautiful name." Anna knew this will be the last conversation they will ever have. Anna wiped her eyes with her arm so she could see but the tears would not stop. The pain she is feeling to lose her first friend stung at her heart, a feeling she never felt before. 

"Aaaaaarrrrrgggghhhh" Theresa screamed, the whole kingdom could hear it for miles. After her last push Theresa relaxed after hearing the cries of her baby girl calling for her mother. Anna cleaned up the small baby and handed her over to Theresa. Theresa eyes light up at the sight of her daughter with blond hair and dark brown eyes like her mother. "My sweet Gwendoline" she said holding her baby's hand. The King ran in after hearing his child's cry "what is it?" he demanded. Theresa looked up at him with a smile "come meet your daughter Gwendoline." He walked over with tears in his eyes and reached out for his child. Theresa handed him Gwendoline "Gwen for short" she finished and reached for Anna's hands. Anna took her hand in her despite the bloody muck all over them "my last wish and request is I want Anna to raise her like Gwen was her own." They both looked at her in shock. "I know Anna would protect her and teacher her to be future queen everyone will love, and I know you Richard will also be by her side so to help raise her as well but she need a mother figure in her life.." Theresa eyes filled with tears knowing she will never see her daughter grow up. Theresa gave one last squeeze of Anna's hand before letting go, with this movement Anna pulled Life's stand of hair from her wrist. "And Richard.. I.. forgive.. you.." where the last words that ever came out of her mouth. Theresa body became limp and Anna put her hand one Theresa's chest to retrieve her soul. Being human King Richard could not see her soul but he could not see with the tears in his eyes clutching at his new born daughter he sobbed loudly where the castle could here. "I will give you some space" Anna said as she walked to the door but vanished. Everyone who heard the King all stopped to morn the lost of the Queen so no one notice Anna disappearing.

Anna went into her realm where only her servants can enter and the Gods but they never entered without permission. Anna walked down the hallway to here the souls where kept with everyone jumping out of her way. No one dared spoke to her they could see the pain in her face and though to leave her be. In the soul room there a millions of clear capsule made of her magic, they where placed on shelf's that reached high in the sky. When Life needs a soul they teleport to her so she can place them. The can not be opened by anyone except by Life and Death, when Deaths reapers bring a soul the capsule will sense it an then open up and once the soul is inside it becomes sealed till Life has received it. The souls where a bright ball of light and Anna could feel they became purer again once a reaper has removed the soul from the body. The room was more full then it should be and Anna found a capsule at a shelf that reaches her chest. Her hand shook as she placed the soul in the capsule and sealed it with both of her hands. Never letting go Anna dropped to her knees and cried for the first time she cried doing her job. Her cries could be heard through the whole godly realms. The reapers felt her sorrow and pain rush through them and tears ran down there cheeks, they knew they couldn't do anything to stop her. All the god stopped at the sound of Death cries and they all looked down with shame. They knew the duty she was given was the hardest one of all. Many ran from her and feared her no one wanted to go with her, they saw her as a bad omen and thought she was the darkness or evil. No god wanted to be hated or feared but she had the duty to take it on for all of them.

"Oh sister" Life said to the cries of her beloved sister. She placed her hand on her heart knowing she could do nothing and she knew this was going to be the hardest soul to take. Death was always tough and never felt anything, however when there nephew was born she started to feel when she was with the humans. She could see that it was hard on him and all she wanted to do was help. But when his death came in such a cruel way she couldn't take the there fear of her she wanted to run away from her duty. But with Theresa it broke her heart and she wanted all to end. For that night in the godly realms only the cries of Death could be heard and it broke everyone hearts.
