My breath hitched and I stood there with my mouth open unable to process everything that just took place.

"God dammit Mark! You had one fucking job and that was to keep her in the car! One job!" Michael shouted out at him.

I gulped and looked at Luke's stiff body on the wooden floor.

"Michael, I tried! I truly did, but she ran off. Just go. I'll clean up and make sure nothing tracks back to us as always." Mark spoke up calmly.

I looked away from the body on the floor and ran back outside getting in the car and locking it. All I could think about was how maybe this trip was some mad game and Michael was going to tie me up far away and kill me too. I'm his friend just as Luke was. A side of me knows that it's not true. That he won't harm me because someone greater is after me.

A loud sound of someone prying on the car door handle shot me out of my thoughts. I crossed my arms and looked over to see Michael smirking and taking his keys out. He opened the door and sat down.

"It's my car. You can't just lock me out. I have keys." Michael said laughing.

I put my seat belt on and stayed quiet. I couldn't bring myself to speak to him. He just killed someone and now he's laughing.

"Away to the hide out then." He said while pulling out of the driveway.

"I can't fucking believe you. You know things were going great. I was thinking about us more and even liking you more, but what a waste that was." I blurted out and looked over at him.

"It's part of the job. Don't you give me that look! He had every right to be shot. He brought us into this mess Bailey!" Michael yelled while driving down the highway the other direction from home.

"You're such a petty bitch. Keep your mouth shut!" He yelled.

I kept my mouth shut the whole drive to the safe house as I was told to. It took us three hours and two stops for gas and Michael to get food and not share.

Once we pulled up to a tiny cabin in the middle of nowhere my stomach began to feel weird.

"Michael, I want to go home with my mom and my dad. Take me home please." I begged even though I knew nothing would work.

"Bailey, you signed up for this. You back out and you'll be just like Lucas is..dead. I don't feel like killing someone that's supposed to be my girl so I'd rather we just head inside." Michael replied to me.

"Please no. I'm too scared to go inside or even be here." I said lowly.

"You're shaking so badly. Just trust me and everything will be ok." He stated before getting out and taking all our stuff inside besides one of my bags.

I went out and took the bag closing the trunk. I walked slowly inside and put it down.

"Can I just move to California?" I asked looking at him.

"No. You're in the gang so the only way out is to kill you and sweetheart, I don't want to do that." Michael said smiling slightly.

I cringed at him and sat down on one of the chairs. I had to admit the cabin was nice. The living room was a dark reddish color with black leather furniture and glass top tables. There wasn't a tv or anything, just a little fireplace.

"Don't call me sweetheart when you just called me a bitch." I said playing with a strand of hair.

"Don't boss me around." Michael replied stubbornly back.

I walked over and sat down beside him. "You frighten me." I said shrugging.

"I scare you because of Luke? I didn't want to do it. If I had a choice, I would have not shot anyone but he quit. It's my job. I'm so sorry that you had to witness that." Michael replied and I could tell he was upset about it.

I moved closer and embraced him tightly.

"It's ok." I said gently, feeling tears fall on my shirt from him.

"I didn't want to kill Luke. He was a friend." He said hugging me closer. "I wish he never did all the bad things he had done."

"People change and things happen. I'm not saying shooting him was the right thing, but it's a part of the job so I guess he kind of had it coming." I said with a shrug.

"I'm sorry." He said, chuckling and wiping his eyes.

"It's fine. Do you want to eat something? I'll cook us something." I said starting to get up, but was pulled back down to be kissed on the cheek.

"Two cheese toasties and soup pretty please." He responded.

I walked into what appeared to be the kitchen and started to make what Michael asked me to. As I was setting up his plate and bowl of soup I noticed someone pulling into the driveway.

"Michael! Someone's here." I said running back into the living room.

"Slow down, it's just Mark bringing me something." Michael replied laughing softly.

I ran back to the kitchen and got his food bringing it back out to him. Mark walked in and sat down on the chair.

"I got it. Do you want me to set it in the bedroom?" He asked starring at Michael.

"Yeah, just put it on the bed. Thank you." Michael replied while blowing on his soup to cool it off.

Mark smiled at me and did as ordered. He came back out and waved a goodbye to us.

"What'd he drop off?" I asked curiously.

"Some stuff I wanted to have here. Nothing too bad." Michael answered.

I was laying on the couch reading some superhero comic Michael had here while he was off doing who knows what. The last time I saw him was when he was washing his dishes off.

I threw the comic down on the table and walked to the bedroom knocking on the door. There was no answer so I let myself in.

I looked around the room and Michael was nowhere to be seen. The only thing that caught my eye was a banquet of white, pink and red roses on the black comforter of the bed. I smiled and picked them up reading the note.

Dear Bailey,

I have a surprise for you so dress in a swim suit and come meet me by the shed.

Love, Michael.

I brought the flowers into the kitchen and set them in a vase of water. I wondered how long Michael had been waiting so I quickly got into my bathing suit and put on my tank top of it.

Walking out of the cabin I already noticed Michael at the shed.

"How long have you been out here?" I asked worried.

"I'd say a full twenty minutes, but I wanted you to find me by yourself." He said with a cocky smile. "Love the swimming suit."

"Watch it Clifford."

He led me down to a pond and dragged out a canoe setting it up in the water. The sunlight was going down in the background and he even played music in the background.

"I thought I'd take you on another date. If you don't mind or do you still hate me?" Michael asked chuckling.

"Its a hate love relationship. I wouldn't say I hate you right now." I said laughing softly. "So yes, take on this date."

And so Michael took me on yet another date.

( sorry for the shitty chapter :/ )
