-Chapter 1-
Blue.
Since the day Jeon Jungkook was born, the first colour that came to sight was blue.
The sky, the sea and the walls of his house. Blue meant nothing but home, familiarity, and ease. Being born in Busan and brought up in a house by the sea also meant that you have the sky as your blanket and the sea as your lullaby.
As cliché as it sounds, the sounds of the sea have always comforted Jungkook. It played a big part in Jungkook's life. It was his playground, his friend to vent his feelings to and his place for inspiration.
The sea replaced his mother's gentle voice and the soft sand replaced his father's warm embrace. It helped him through all his lonely and sleepless nights.
This is probably why he feels so attached to the colour blue and the sea.

Just a day before Jungkook's 5th birthday, his parents got into a car accident.
Fatal.
The boy, who once had loving parents that would kiss him to sleep every night and starts his morning by peppering him with the same kisses.
The playful dad that brings him out to the sea for his weekly "adventures" as baby Jungkook likes to call it.
The gentle mum that prepares a lovely breakfast for the pair to return from their adventures.
The parents that would always celebrate his birthday with his favourite cake and homemade seaweed soup.
It was all gone.
In that night, He lost everything. He was lost, with nowhere to go and no one to come back to.
Everyone he loved, he lost; hence, he decided to not love or even stop himself from loving.
After the incident, Jungkook went from a bubbly, bright young boy to a shy and reserved kid who rarely speak to anyone. Lucky enough, he was brought up by his kind neighbour that funded his education and visited him on a regular basis with food and clothing.
He had to grow up in an instant.
At the age of 14, Jungkook started working part-time in the convenience store near his place to provide for himself. He didn't want to trouble his neighbour, he owed her too much.
Over the years, he's gotten used to eating alone, sleeping alone and being alone. With the lack of company, he developed an aloof personality.
With that and his overly mature thinking, no one would get close to him.
He tried, he did try to change and make friends but it seems that Jungkook has a mind of his own that no one could ever understand. He couldn't make friends easily and doesn't seem to fit in anywhere.
So, he stopped trying.
