-Chapter 3-

The wind is bitterly cold tonight.

Jungkook is at his usual spot at the beach. A spot where you can get the full view of the star-studded night sky and the now turned to a dark shade of blue sea.

It surely is mesmerizing, being the only one to be able to enjoy the view of tons and dozen stars right above you. But for Jungkook, it seems to intensify his feelings being isolated.

It is suffocating, but he seems to be enjoying it.

Beside him lies a piece of paper and a pen. Ever since he read about the 52-Hertz whale, he hasn't stopped the making of this song.

He wasn't sure who was it for but he was sure that someone, someone would understand.

"In the middle of the vast ocean

One whale speaks softly and lonelily

The fact that no matter how much they shout, it won't reach

Makes them so gravely lonely that they quietly shut their mouths

Now, well, I don't care

When only the thing called Loneliness remained by my side

I've become completely alone."

His mind is stuck there, call it the composer block or whatever, it seems like Jungkook could only think of that verse for his song.

"Whale, whale. Singing alone."  Jungkook mumbles and pens his ideas down. These days had been unsuccessful for his writing, Jungkook just couldn't think of the right phrase to describe what he is feeling.

He scribbles and strikes it out. Scribbles again and strikes it out.

At this point, it's just him wasting paper and ink.

"Ugh." Jungkook groans in frustration. His mind and notes are a mess, nothing is going in and nothing is coming out. Ultimately, he puts down his pen and lays down.

Closing his eyes, he sings.

"In the middle of the vast ocean

One whale speaks softly and lonelily

The fact that no matter how much they shout, it won't reach

Makes them so gravely lonely that they quietly shut their mouths

Now, well, I don't care

When only the thing called Loneliness remained by my side

I've become completely alone."

Maybe the sound of the waves, maybe the wind. Not sure where he got the idea from, but he continues.

"Even if my breaths are blocked

Because I'm confined in that wall

I head towards the surface of water above

Hey oh, oh hey oh yeah"

He sprang up, hand quick to grab his pen to write that down.

Finally, a little progress.

Feeling content about his little verse, Jungkook gets up, brushes the sand off him and walks back to his house.

It's late and he still has work tomorrow.

-

He missed it.

Jungkook missed the black figure hiding behind the rocks.

No, it's not a stalker nor a killer.

It's Taehyung.

Originally, Taehyung is supposed to continue swimming after going on shore to rest for a while but well, his plans changed when he heard a boy singing.

To Taehyung, his voice was more than angelic. It was soft and mellow. It soothed Taehyung's tense body which he didn't even realise he had it tensed for the whole time.

Taehyung felt a strange feeling in his heart.

The lyrics, his voice, and his story. It seems like Taehyung finally found it.

His soulmate.

Taehyung got closer, he caught a glimpse of the boy before he went into a house. He finally reached his limit. Taehyung plops down on the soft sand.

He is exhausted, both his body and mind.

It had been hard, for him, to pretend like he was ok with everything.

To continue swimming and swimming with no one by him.

Now, all he does is close his eyes and sleep, just like every other night.

But this time, there is a faint smile on his face.

,

I've been roaming the ocean, singing my song

It seems I've been singing it in the wrong key.

My voice is too high, the verses too short,

None of my kind seem to know about me.
