Grilly Tail

Part 6

*Grian's POV*

It has only been 10 minutes into P.E. And Rowan was working us down... And this was just suppose to be the warm up stretches! The only one he was being easy on was his precious daughter Silly. Which I was not surprised, I would have been upset to see her as miserable as the rest of us... well there was Yui and that kid with the scar over his eye. They seemed to get along well... Which might be because that kid claimed to have been raised by wolves? Or did he kill a pack of wolves with his teeth? Hell how did he even end up in either situation to begin with?

Anyway, eventually Rowan herded us outside and revealed what looked to be an obstacal course, surrounded by a race track.

"ALRIGHT MAGGOTS!! SINCE IT IS THE FIRST DAY OF THE YEAR, I WAS TOLD BY THE PRINCIPLE THAT I NEED TO BE EASIER ON YOU... SO I KILLED HIM." Rowan shouted, which gained quite a few shocked reactions... mostly from Sam but who really cares?

"HOWEVER AFTER I DID... I FELT BAD A DECIDED TO DO IT THE WAY HE SAID AS A WAY TO HONOR HIM. SO! YOU MAGGOTS WILL RUN THIS OBSTACAL COURSE! COMPLETE IT AT LEAST ONCE AND THEN YOU CAN EITHER DO IT AGAIN OR WALK THE TRACK!" he shouted again.

Some of us were glad to hear this, well except scar kid. He raised his hand and asked, "Mr.Artifax sir! When will do something harder? I was hoping to maybe climb a mountain or wrestle a bear this year sir!" He said. I saw Yui's eyes light up and her tail wagged. "That sounds like so much fun! When can we do that?" She said. Silly put her hand on Yui's mouth to shush her, and then Sam got in the other kid's faces, "Are you serious right now? Are you trying to kill us?"

"THAT COMES LATER IN THE YEAR. DON'T YOU WORRY!" Rowan replied and was met with groans from us and a cheer from the kid and Yui...

The more Yui does the more it seems like I know that one... But I just can't put my finger on it. I shrugged and then prepared to do the course.

Sam went first and he was unusually confident. Which he was really good it was like he really was part rabbit. But then I saw Yui run the track to get to him and just before he completed it, she gave a swift jab to his back, causing him to fail his first attempt.

The majority of the class began to laugh, along with Rowan. And Sam was upset that someone hit him, he had somehow... not seen Yui do it? He grumbled as he went to the back of the line and we watched Taurtis fail it... But at least we all actively like that one...

And soon it was Silly's turn, I sighed and watched intently. She had her eyes closed and seemed to be doing a brief breathing exercise. I hope she will be ok, she looks so small and frail.

I was then proved wrong, as it looked like some kind of switch clicked on in her, and there was determination in them. And then she sprinted forward, doing flips and well basically hardcore parkour skills through it, and completed it with ease. Yui and Rowan were cheering while the rest of us were shocked. I guess I was not alone in thinking Silly a frail cute girl.

She smiled and jogged over to Yui, Yuki, Snowowl and Sooki who all smiled and cheered their friend as they went to walk the track. I kept staring at Silly, 'man... never underestimate a pretty face... she is amazing.' I thought.

It took me a couple tries to complete the course, but I managed to do it on my 3rd try. And then I heard Silly cheer for me. I blushed, seeing her clapping and smiling at me. "Great job Grian! You did so good!" She said.

I could feel the heavy blush fill my cheeks and also color my ears. How could she get more cute?

An hour passed and the only student to not complete the course was Sam. And that was because Yui kept messing him up. And again, none of us cared for Sam's plight, but found it amusing all the same.

And as we were leaving the school I saw Yui leave Silly at the gate, they smiled and waved goodbye to each other. I gulped and made sure my hair looked ok. Since I assume she was waiting for her parents before heading home.

'Alright Grian just go up to her and say hello. Maybe we can be friends before you try any dating nonsense.' I thought taking a deep breath. And walked up to her.

I then heard barking, I turned and saw my dog Yume, she was bounding toward me and proceeded to pounce on me, knocking me to the ground and licking my face. I couldn't help but laugh and ruffle her fur. "Oh hey Yume girl. Couldn't wait for me to get home huh? Did you jump the fence?" I asked, taking a slight scolding tone.

Her ears bent back a little and she whimpered. Then she noticed Silly, who had come to investigate. "A-are you ok Grian?" She asked.

I chuckled, feeling a bit calmer now that my best friend had arrived. "Oh. Uh yeah I am ok. This is just my dog. Her name is Yume and she usually meets me after school, but our new house doesn't have a doggy door yet, so I guess she jumped the fence." I replied. Yume walked up to Silly and sniffed her leg, and then wagged her tail.

She barked playfully at Silly and walked around her and did the stance to play. I was surprised because Yume never does that after meeting someone for the first time. If Yume liked her so easily Silly must be a really kind person.

Silly giggled and kneeled down to Yume's level. "She is so pretty, is she mixed with something? Like maybe a wolf and husky? She is so big too." She said as she ruffled Yume's fur. Yume yipped happily at the attention and compliment.

"I am pretty sure she is mixed with a wolf. She shares a lot of characteristics with one. But I don't really know because I found her as a stray a long time ago. When she was just a small puppy in fact. And whatever she is, she seems to have a much longer life span than any normal canine." I explained, commenting on the fact that I had her since I was about 4.

"That is so cool! I am glad that you have a companion that seems like she will be with you for life. Maybe she is something more supernatural then? Well I mean if that kind of thing was real anyway!" She said laughing awkwardly and standing back up just as Okami and Rowan came out along with a boy that looked a lot like Rowan.

"Well I should go now." I said, but then Yume grabbed my phone from my pocket with her mouth and whimpered holding it to Silly.

I blushed, "Y-Yume! Give that back!" I said, but Silly smiled and took it and then returned it to me.

"It is almost like she was trying to get me to put my number in your phone huh?" She giggled.

I shakingly took my phone and chuckled, "Y-yeah I guess... silly dog. Eh he heh.." I said, glancing at the proud pooch next to me.

I said goodbye and then began leaving, before Rowan could chew my ear off for interacting with his daughter. As Yume and I walked, I spoke to her. I figures she couldn't understand me but it was nice that it seemed like she could at least sense my emotions.

"That was a close one girl... I'm not ready to ask for her number yet... friends first. Then I will try for more.. But thanks I guess.. even if you just wanted to have another option for maybe an emergency pet sitter." I said, petting her again. She yipped and whined.

"You're too smart sometimes..." I chuckled again.

(This was an incredibly long part! I hope you guys like it. Again this book will not be exactly like the YouTube series, just heavily inspired. Especially since there is technically 2 new characters made by me in it xD. I will work on the next part as soon as I can! Until then have a fantastic day everyone!)
