Lia’s POV
We were driving down the street and Rod was complaining.
“Lia I think all that stuff at the AA meeting is a bunch of bull! Why are we doing this again?”
I sighed in disappointment, “For Sara. She tells us that we get abusive when we drink and that we hurt her. We are doing this for her…we can’t have children of our own so she is all we have and I was overjoyed when she called me mom for the first time. I don’t want us to be like her birth parents so we need to do this. Do you want our little girl to hate us forever and for what she went through with her birth parents to repeat?” I saw a tear in his eyes but he blinked it away.
“No…I still can’t believe we hurt her. I will do it for Sara, Lia.” I smiled and when I looked at the road I saw another car in the driveway.
“Lia is that Sara’s friend’s car?”
“I think so. We will see when we get inside.” We pulled into the drive, got out and went to the porch. I unlocked the door and I was shocked to see Sara kissing a boy. They stopped and looked at us and Sara got off of the boy and got off the couch with the boy standing next to her.
“Sara! Who is this boy and why were you kissing him!” Rod said with a look of anger on his face, he was about to run over to them but I held him back.
“Mom…dad this is Mitch…my boyfriend.” My feeling of shock disappeared and was replaced with happiness, I also saw Rod calm down a little bit. We then walked in and closed the door.
“Sara…Lia please go into the kitchen so that I can have a talk with Mitch here.” Jasmine nodded reluctantly and I saw Mitch gulp. Sara and I walked into the kitchen and I smelled Chinese food…this is going to be torture to wait.
Mitch’s POV
He sat down on a chair and motioned towards the couch. I sat down on the couch and we looked at each other, I could feel his eyes staring into my soul.
“Mitch this is not a way I wanted to meet you but too late. I care a lot for Sara…that’s why we are getting help. I just have one thing to say to you Mitch…if you break her heart you will end up in the emergency room in a full body cast! You got that!?” My eyes went wide when he said that.
“Y-yes sir.” I heard my voice crack…I was scared shitless to be honest. A smile appeared on his face.
“Good and you seem like a good kid so I would hate to hurt you.” After he said that he got up and went into the kitchen, I went in a few minutes later and saw the three of them getting their food. Lia finished getting her food as I picked up my plate and she went to the dining room and sat at the dinner table. We joined her a few minutes later and I was sitting in between Rod and Sara.
This is awkward.

Ok so the due date for the cover contest is the 19th which is when chapter 20 will be uploaded and chapter 21 is the dedication chapter
Now the character contest is for Sara’s best friend and that winner will get a dedication also. The character will be introduced in chapter 22 so that will be the dedication chapter for this contest. Now here are the categories for you guys to fill out.
