The first day of my last year at high school and I already feel exhausted. I stare at my reflection in the mirror, well more specifcally, my hideous bed head and puffy face. Which is caused by the lack of sleep I recieved last night. As I stare at my state and I swear I felt vomit crawl up my throat.
"Yuck." Is all I manage to say before I begin to freshen up for the day. Once I am finished, I stumble into my kitchen and decide to have some toast for breakfast. I place two pieces of bread into the toaster, pressing the button that begins to cook the bread. I then head over to my fridge to retrieve the butter and vegemite as I wait. I later hear the 'pop' of the toaster, signalling that the toast is ready. I grab both pieces and then spread butter on both slices, followed by the vegemite.
Apart from the crunching noises made from me eating my toast, my apartment is dead silent. Living alone can be quite depressing sometimes. I usually enjoy the peace though. I enjoy having the freedom to do what I want, when I want and not have anyone disturb me. But there are times where that peace can turn into lonliness, where it feels as if I am the only soul left on earth. There is a difference between enjoying your alone time and being lonely. I finish up my last piece of toast as I try shaking off those negative thoughts.
I return to my bedroom to pick an outfit for the day. I decide on a nice, simple outift and change into it before grabbing the items i'll need for the day.
I pack my bag and then mentally prepare myself for another year at school. Once I am ready, I grab my car keys and head to school.

"Hello? Earth to Lily!" I am taken out of my daze by the voice and hand motions of my best friend, Cole.
"Sorry." I reply still a little out of it. Cole notices this and so decides to act on it. He brings his index finger up to connect with my chin and then slowly lifts up my head, bringing my gaze along with it.
"Whats up Lils?" He has his worried tone laced into his words.
"No, nothing." I lie. "I was just lost in thought." Yeah, thoughts about my tragic yet unfamiliar past. The expression Cole has, lets me know that he saw right through my lie and knows that there is something wrong. So, like always, he does what he can to make me smile and take my negative thoughts away.
"Well, since you obviously weren't listening, I was telling you that we are going to a party tonight." Cole states, excitement radiating off his body.
"No that's okay Cole. I think imma just have a movie night tonight." I look down at my food, flipping it around with the fork in my hand.
Cole huffs. "You are not getting out of this one Lily. You are coming to the party with me, whether you like it or not. Plus it's the first party of the year and everyone will be there." He says with confidence. I narrow my eyes at him in defeat with a small smile plastered on my face.
"Fine..." I sigh and Cole lifts his fist in the air as a sign of victory but then shortly brings his face closer to mine.
"I promised you'll have fun." He sends me a warming smile that always manages to form on my face along with it.

"You look hot!" Willow states while looking me up and down excitedly. I walk up to the full body mirror in that's near my bed and my eyes confirm her statement."I actually look presentable for once." I say causing Willow to scoff.
"Shut up you! You are gorgeous 24/7! Like me!" She says spinning around so I can take in her appearance. I have always envied the amount of confidence Willow has in herself. I will admit that it can sometimes go to her head but she loves the way she is and has the 'I don't give a shit what anyone thinks' kinda attitude. I only wished I had those sorts of thoughts towards myself.
"Uh hello? Do you or not?" I once again get cut off from my inner thoughts.
"Huh? What did you say?" I ask with furrowed brows. Willow chuckles and rolls her eyes.
"I said, do you think these heels go well with my outfit?" I examine her clothes and then her heels and they match well.
"Definitely! They look amazing!" I cheerfully compliment her party attire for the night.
"Yay! Thanks Lil! You look amazing too! Trust me, the boys will be all over you!" She grabs her purse and I do the same. As we walk to my car, I whip out my phone and head to the address that Cole had texted to me earlier.
