"Willow!" I shout as soon as I spot her standing in front of our first class. She freezes up at the sound of my voice and shows me the most fake smile I have ever witnessed.
"Hi Lils." I can hear how nervous she is and that makes my curiosity run wild.
"Where'd you go last night at the party? You just disappeared." She adds an awkward laugh but I keep a straight face and decide to ignore her question.
"Did you sleep with Maddy?" The only part of my body that moves is my lips and I keep my sight glued to Willow. She however, rocks back and forth on her feet while shifting around uncomfortably. Shock inevitable on her face.
"I-uh-n-ye-" she stutters and I immediately know the answer. She blinks rapidly and moves her lips without any words to explain her actions. My eyes shift to the ground and flood with tears.
"Why?!" I exclaim. "You can't of been drunk cause we had only arrived about an hour beforehand!" My anger spills out like hot lava and I watch as it burns through Willow, runs up her veins and surfaces up to her eyes to portray as tears.
"Lily. I'm so sorry. I don't know what came over me. I mean, you knew I was looking for someone to have some fun with-"
"But it did not have to be Maddy!" I cut her bullshit story off. I can't even understand her right now, shes like a complete stranger. Tears roll down both our faces and Willow seems to not be able to explain herself. So I take a deep breath and ask her,
"Why Maddy? Out of all the guys at that party. Why did you choose the person, who you know, has hurt me and still hurts me, to this day?" I feel like I am about to explode, releasing all my tears, hurt and anger out of me. Willows expression dilutes into plain guilt as she watches me fall apart right in front of her.
"I'm so sorry Lily. I swear I didn't mean for it to happen with him, it just...did." That's not good enough. I bring my hands up to my tear stained face and wipe those tears away. I haven't ever been this furious with Willow. But she has never done anything to make me furious or non trustworthy towards her, until now that is.
"Will it happen again?" I ask with no given expression on my face.
"Well Lily, you see-" another voice interrupts Willow and this persons one sentence, kills off Willow and I's friendship in one direct hit.
"Of course it will, we're dating."
*
My throat closes up, blocking my vomit from escaping my stomach. More additional tears build up in my eyes.
"Dating?" I managed to choke out. Willows head falls so she's cowardly looking at the ground. While Maddy has his head held high. But, I then realise something.
"What about Tasmyn?" I smirk even though my tears are still evident on my face. Willows eyes widen along with Maddy's, as if he's just realised he already has a girlfriend.
"Fuck!" Maddy curses under his breath. He steps back and runs his fingers through his disheveled hair, in a frustrated manner. Willow let's her hair fall in front of her face, probably to hide her embarrassment.
"So, I'm guessing you haven't even broke up with Tasmyn? She does not deserve that Maddy." Although Maddy is a complete and utter piece of dog shit, Tasmyn is actually a decent girl. She would always try to get Maddy off my back if she ever witnessed him being a douche to me.
"I know that Lily! I forgot we were still together!" Maddy frustratedly argues against me. Meanwhile Willow looks like the most uncomfortable being on earth.
"Y-you should probably g-go see her." Willow stutters out. Maddy looks at her with guilt riddled eyes.
"Yeah...I'll see you later?" Maddy asks Willow with hope.
"Maybe." Willow replies as she turns and strolls away, her eyes not leaving the ground. I hear Maddy curse under his breath again.
"You sure fucked up this time Blackstone." I say smart-assedly. Instant regret fills me, once I see Maddy's reaction to my remark. He forcefully shoves me into the wall behind me and slams both of his fists on either side of my head.
"Why can't you just shut the fuck up, huh?! You know I wouldn't purposely hurt Tasmyn!" Maddy screams directly in my face, earning looks from other students passing by. Just as I am about to retaliate, I hear a third person speak up beside us.
"And you know that's a bunch of bullshit Maddy." I turn my attention to the owner of the voice and see a glaring Tasmyn, who looks very upset, to say the least. Talk about perfect timing. Tasmyn observes the position we are in and practically throws Maddy away from me. She offers me a warm smile and reassures that I'm okay. I return the smile and we both then look towards a cowaring Maddy.
"What did you do that would supposedly hurt me, Maddy?" Tasmyn strolls over to Maddy in full confidence, eager for his response.
