Joining Fandoms

*Directioner - a directioner(I think) is a person, seriously dedicated to loving and knowing about all things One Direction.

Popular musicians or bands will usually have a fandom (i.e. a group of girls or guys who dedicate their lives to obsessing over these people and their lives).

Fandoms can be really cool sometimes like if you're totally obsessed over some guy like Justin Beiber or a band like One Direction and you want to know more about them from people like yourself; otherwise, it get's really crazy and does get out of hand.

I, personally, really like Harry Styles from One Direction cuz of his hair, his tattoos, the slow way he talks, his smile, his accent, his terrible humor, the way his eyes sparkle.......

Anyways..

I like him and his bands' music...but I don't like all of the things about them.

So I saw this post once on Instagram about being a directioner* meaning having to love all the band's music and not pretend to, just cuz you know the song "what makes you beautiful". Then I asked my friends (who are directioners) and they said that:

*shifu voice* "in order to be a real directioner, you must learn to love all members and all their music."

(Sort of)

Afterwards, they told me that there is a girl that is seriously hated by the fandom for being fake (I think) and I got really scared of this fandom just thinking, "what if they really hate me and I start receiving hate for not liking all of the members?!"

Then there's also all the fandom rivaly and wars and that's just WEBDHTEVSP

so. . .

My brain immediately told me

NOT

A

CHANCE

I am NOT receiving hate and letting it haunt me till college just for a simple mistake.

So I played it safe and buried the idea.

. . .

Anyways, those are some reasons that i'm not all over the idea of joining a fandom cuz as the saying goes:

"Once in NEVER out"

I hope I don't offend anyone (especially fans or members of the fandoms) with this rant. It's just something that I have to say cuz it bugs me and I need an outlet.

I honestly love One direction and their music but I have too little commitment to being a part of the fandom.
