28.) What Do I Do Now?

Kallista's P.O.V

After we all came back to Luke's house, Liz and Andrew started fighting about how he doesn't want her here.

She told us that he doesn't like how she runs everything as alpha. She gives too many chances to some of us. He would prefer to just kill someone on spot for messing up a rule, even one as simple as using your powers out in the open, even when no one is around.

"Well maybe if you'd do your job properly Andrew, these kids wouldn't have gone through what they have the past few weeks!" Liz shouted, and Andrew looked over at us.

"What have you gone through that would involve me? Luke and Luna are in charge of you guys, not me. Luke made that very clear to me." Andrew said, eyeing Luke up like he could kill him.

"Well for starters, there was a hunter in town after our kind. Kalli was nearly decapitated. She was out cold for three weeks. Not once did you offer your help with the hunter. I'm sure you knew he was here." Luke said angrily.

"I did. I wanted to see how well you could do without my help. You did good. However, I am very sorry to hear what happened to you Kalli. Are feeling better?" Andrew asked, and I looked up and made eye contact with him.

I stared into his eyes for what felt like forever. And he didn't look away once.

We both just stared, and I think everyone else was getting weirded out and uncomfortable.

"Well, okay then. Glad you're up and moving Kalli. I'm glad your not dead." Andrew said.

"If you only knew the half of it dad!" Luke shouted, slamming his hand down on the table so hard it cracked, glass shattering everywhere.

"Luke!" Andrew shouted at him.

"No disrespect dad, but didn't you just try and kill her not that long ago?" Luke asked angrily.

"Andrew! Are you serious?" Liz yelled.

"Her identity was known to mortals. It was her or them!" Andrew defended.

"It was her family! Did you really think they would out her as a vampire?" Ashton joined in on the yelling.

"You never know. Sometimes your family isn't who they seem to be." Andrew said, looking over at Luke.

I couldn't handle the fighting.

Not after what I just went through.

I squeezed my eyes shut, and when I opened them they were spiraling like crazy, causing everyone to stop yelling at each other and look at me.

"I killed my father." I stated bluntly.

Andrew's mouth fell open. Luna, Ember, and Ana gasped and looked at me.

It was silent.

To silent.

I couldn't even hear anyone's thoughts.

"You what?" Ember was the first to speak.

"I ripped his head off his body, and I burned him." I said quietly while looking into Andrew's eyes.

"Why? What happened?" Andrew asked, and I saw Luke tense up.

The other boys seemed to follow in Luke's footsteps and tense up as well.

"He teamed up with two hunters who came here looking for their friend. That's the guy Luke killed three weeks ago. And they set all kinds of traps, and I was the victim of one. They were tainting the blood of the animals with drugs or something. I was paralyzed." I told Andrew, and he frowned at me.

"What else?" He asked.

"He said he would do anything to kill your family, even if it hurt me. He was gonna kill me and drink my blood to regain his strength. He said he tried everything else, including my mum and Nate." I said looking down at my hands, twiddling my thumbs.

"Your mum and Nate? What did he need them for? They're mortal." Ana joined in the converstation.

"He said he killed them." I said quietly, a tear falling down my cheek.

It fell silent again. I could feel Luke and Michael both rubbing my back to keep me as calm as possible.

I could hear sniffles from Ember and Luna.

Calum and Ashton were sending thoughts to eachother about how awkward all of this just got, and Ana is sending thoughts them telling them to shut up and deal with it.

Liz grabbed Andrew's arm to get his attention, but he wouldn't budge.

He stared at me, hard.

It was almost like he was trying to figure out if I was telling them truth or not.

"They're dead?" He finally broke his silence.

"That's what Ian said. We haven't checked it out yet." Luke said, standing to his feet, walking towards his dad.

"Go check it out. We need to know for sure." Andrew said, sadly.

"Okay. C'mon guys. We gotta go quick, before someone else finds them." Luke said darting out the door.

Everyone followed after them, except Luke's parents and me.

I just stared at Andrew again.

"Kalli? Are you alright?" He asked me.

"Not really." I said.

"What's on your mind?" He asked me.

"Can't you just read my thoughts?" I asked him sarcastically.

"I try not to do it without permission. Please, tell me." He said.

"You wanna know what's on my mind? Are you sure?" I asked and he nodded, Liz tightening her grip on him because she had already read my mind, and I think my thoughts broke her heart.

"I wish you would have killed me that day Andrew." I whispered, a single tear running down my face.

As I saw his expression change, I ran out the door towards the rest of my friends, hoping I wasn't gonna walk into the murder scene of my family.
