As I chuck my book back into my handbag, I look outside the window to admire the beautiful city of Paris. The rain has now completely stopped and as I close the window, a gentle, satisfying breeze could be felt to the touch.
The train cabins were now in full swing as the train passengers started preparing themselves to hop off the train at the, obviously, most popular destination.
I grab my long, fancy coat and swiftly put it on, leaving it unbuttoned. Throwing my handbag on my left shoulder, I open the door, nudging my head for the guys to get out of the cabin, as all of them were seemingly ready themselves.
"It's okay Hana, I'll hold it for you; lady's first!" Genji semi-yells over the other passengers and shuffling, putting his hand over mine as he holds the train cabin door. I nod and smile, not bothering to say something as I would most likely not be heard with my quiet voice. As I exit the train cabin, the other guys follow closely behind as we hop off the train itself; the train soon leaving after we have done so as it disappears into the never-ending horizon.
I awkwardly stand beside the guys who don't seem to be going anywhere, as I myself am unsure whether or not this is where our routes separate. I pretend to fumble on my phone as the three talk about unrelateable matters.
"Oh Hana, I recommend you just stick with us as we are going to the Overwatch Academy as well. Only if you want to, of course," Hanzo proposed. I nod my head, since he does have a point.
"Gabriel is picking us up as he drove to Paris with his car. He'll drive us to the Academy and we should be there about 30 minutes early, before the interviews commence," Jack adds as he seemingly forgets that I am there, glancing at Genji and Hanzo as they both mutter something along of the words of 'cool' or 'that's great'. I look at my boots shyly as I barely say anything.
Jack's phone beeps quietly after which he motions us all to follow him. I'm assuming his friend Gabriel, whoever he is, has arrived. I follow the guys, Genji eyeing me out of the corner of his eyes. He seemingly slows his pace to match my own as he puts his hands into his pockets.
Why the hell is he doing that.
"Don't worry, Gabriel is a good friend of Jack's. He might seem a bit rude but that's just his personality," Genji says as he looks at me. I keep my gaze fixed to the floor as I nodded slightly, my face blank as I half-pay attention to his words.
"Are you alright Hana?" Genji inquires, concerned, "You seem quite worried."
I shake my head as if I'm trying to get myself out of a trance, looking up at him, "I'm ok, Genji. I appreciate your concern. I'm just a bit worried for this interview," I mutter quietly as I bow my head once again.
Genji pats me on the shoulder gently before responding again. "Hana, you seem like an amazing girl. I'm sure you'll get through, and if not, I bet I won't have what it takes either," Genji admittedly states as I blush lightly, hiding my face. I glance at Hanzo, who seemed to snicker at Genji's small talk as Genji seemingly gives him a death glare in response.
After a short period of walking, Jack points to a jet black Lamborghini, without a roof, the varnish of the car gleaming brightly from the suns rays. I stare at the car's crisp complexion in awe until I soon notice the passenger of the car. He was dark skinned, tall and would definitely have a bold stance if he were to stand. I feel slightly intimated as I stand behind Hanzo and Genji, while Jack walks over to Gabriel and they seemingly fist bump and have a short conversation. Once again, I am left silent as I pretend to fumble through my phone once more.
Jack motions us to sit down as we all approach the car. Genji opens the door for me as I thank him, sitting myself down in the middle seat at the back, placing my handbag in between my feet as the two brothers sit on either side of me. Gabriel had his hand leaning on the front passenger's seat in a laid back manner as he glances at me. Although, I try to ignore him as his posture intimidated me.
"Who's this young beautiful lady that's joining is today?" Gabriel chuckled as he looked at me lustily. I attempted to ignore it, as I put a small, fake smile on in response to how pathetic I thought his first impression was.
"I'm Hana, nice to meet you," I murmur as I keep my hands to myself, tucking a strand of hair as I shyly focus my gaze on my phone as Gabriel seemingly chuckles once more.
I notice Genji and Hanzo rolling their eyes as Jack lightly pats Gabriel, out of what seemed annoyance, on the shoulder, Gabriel focusing on the road as he drives through the main streets of Paris.
"Gabriel, not cool. Girls don't like men that try to seduce them the moment they meet them, this isn't a strip club," Jake boldly states as Gabriel momentarily glances at Jack, an evil-like smirk creeping us his face before he once again focuses his attention to the road before him.
Jack turns to me to check if I was ok. I mouthed the words 'thank you'. He nodded, mouthing the words 'I'm sorry' before his head darts back around to face the road. I shake my head to myself as I glance outside at the ever-moving landscape of Paris as the car is in full motion, the satisfying motion of the breeze flowing through my hair. The city that day was in full swing as all the buildings and paths were full to the brim and the sun beamed on the city with a blue sky accompanied.
I sigh gently to myself as I eye my surroundings further, trying to ignore the presence of Gabriel who, quite frankly, made me feel quite uncomfortable.
I didn't know how long the journey would last until we reach Overwatch High, but I tried to abolish my nervousness as I fixated myself on admiring the beautiful city of Paris for the meantime.
This city could be my home for a while...
hopefully.
