The honour role, which consisted of my closest friends, Jack, Genji and Angela, and I, were quickly notified of our campus living headquarters. We stayed in the same apartment complex, divided into 2 apartments, one for the guys and one for the girls. Our complex was located opposite the other apartment complex, divided into smaller living spaces for the remaining members who hadn't made it onto the honour roll.
We were told our luggage would be transported by maids of the academy. Knowing this, the four of us made our way to the apartment complex.
I can't believe this is happening.
Our faces were plastered with huge grins as we slowly walked towards the complex. We all exchanged our excitement as we discussed what we each looked forward to.
Suddenly, our mouths hung open, shocked at the scale of the complex. I started jumping erratically at its sight. It was bigger than my entire house! I could feel Genji's arms wrapping around me as I giggled with disbelief.
"Hana, stop being so adorable, god dammit!" Genji chuckled as he held me. I laughed at his comment, turning around and smiling brighter than I ever had before in my life.
"Well, I am happier than I've ever been before!" I beam as I face the others, who were giggling and laughing in response.
"What are we waiting for? Let's go inside!" I semi-yelled, excited, running off from the group, which soon started to run after me, too.
Finding Angela's suitcases and my suitcases leaning against a door, I jump into the corresponding apartment, rightfully so. I open my mouth, yet no words come out as I am in disbelief. I hear Angela brushing past me as she squeals, jumping onto the bed. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Genji looking at Angela, smiling at her. I could feel a slight tingling in my chest, but I chose to ignore it as I ran to the bed at the opposite of the room. I see Jack following me, sitting beside me. I try to hide my excitement as I smile into a pillow for a few moments before I try and calm myself down.
Genji picks himself up, walking towards me too. My mouth crooks momentarily at the unsuspecting gesture.
"Jack, we should go check out our apartment and let the girls relax a bit before classes begin tomorrow," Genji says semi-quietly as Jack gives him a confused look, after which he nods.
"Wait, we have classes tomorrow!?" I suddenly jump up as the reality hits.
"You didn't know Hana?" Jack asks, to which I shake my head 'no'.
"Don't worry Hana, I picked an extra copy of your schedule because I was checking whether or not we had any classes together. You can have this one if you didn't pick up yours," Genji murmurs quietly as he hands me the schedule. I thank him gratefully, grabbing hold of the schedule from him.
"Well, we'll get moving then. Make sure you guys get some good rest!" Jack says as he picks his body up from my bed. He shoots me a smile before turning around and leaving with Genji. Angela and I save the two goodbye as they leave.
I walk towards my suitcase and start unpacking my clothes, folding them and walking back and forth to the wardrobe to place them neatly. While doing so, I see Angela walking towards me with a big, sly grin plastered on her face. She kneels before me, staying silent momentarily.
"Do you need anything?" I kindly ask Angela as I lift my head up to face her.
"Not really.. I was just wondering.." Angela begins, before starting to whisper, "don't you think one of the lads are acting quite strange around you?"
I shoot one eyebrow up and give off a confused expression before responding. "What do you mean?"
"Hana, have you not noticed how Genji perhaps, acts quite different around you? He just seemingly cares so much about you, protected you in every situation so far and always chases after you?"
She is right, I suppose. But aren't those kindhearted and friendly gestures?
I shake my head in response. "I don't think so, I just found them to be gestures of a good friend?" I slightly question my own opinion as Angela lifts her shoulders up in uncertainty.
"Maybe rightfully so. None the less, I still ship you two!"
I scrunch my face in response as Angela picks herself off from the ground. Simultaneously, a little smile creeps onto my face.
He is pretty cute, adorable and overall extremely kindhearted. God, am I catching feelings for him already?
As Angela continues unpacking, I drop my head into the palms of my hand.
I'm so confused. Now the thought of Genji makes my heart tingle, but I still can't forget about Jack. Why am I so confusing?
