Rhysand ~I snuck out of the bed, making sure not to wake Feyre up. I headed down the stairs, careful not to make any noise.
After searching through the cabinets and pantry, the ingredients were splayed onto the table like a feast ( ;) ACOMAF.) Grabbing the dry and wet ingredients, I whisked them together to create the perfect consistency.
Finally, the whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, and assortment of food were placed. I grabbed a silver tray from the cupboard and placed it onto the kitchen countertop.
I turned around and pushed the our bedroom door open quietly with the tray in my arms. "Feyre, darling?"
She was already sitting up on the bed, "I felt your warmth leave the bed. You were so noisy downstairs, I wondered what you were up to."
"You ruined the surprise," I told her as I walked over to our bed, "Happy Mothers Day."
She smiled, looking down at the tray I'd brought to her. We waited a few years after we had married. Most people had weddings during the springtime with the puffiest dresses with flowers blooming everywhere, but ours was under the stars. We didn't have a large wedding, although I would spend thousands of dollars just for her. The day was perfect as her father walked her down the aisle with her two sisters, Mor, and Amren waiting.
Our wedding felt like it was yesterday, watching the shooting stars and laying in the grass. A tear rolled down my cheek, "Thinking about our wedding again?" She giggled and licked it away, "You're such a (ILLYRIAN!) baby, Rhys."
"Speaking of babies..." I looked down to her stomach, patting it gently.
"Any name ideas?" she asked, reaching towards the fork, hunger enveloping her.
"It's only been a month, we have plenty of time."
I watched her swallow the breakfast I'd made to my best abilities. My mother's old waffle recipe with whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, and topped off with some fresh strawberries from Elain's garden.
I watched her only eat halfway through the stack of waffles and then she paused. "Rhysss," she whined like a six year-old, "I can't possibly eat this all by myself."
Smirking at her, I picked up a strawberry, "Need me to help?"
I brought the strawberry closer to mouth, just as Feyre snatched it out of my hand, "Just kidding, I'm starving."
"Prick," I pouted, imitating her. "If you thought that was the only gift, then you're certainly wrong."
I pulled out a book from behind me.
She licked the remnants of whipped cream on her lips, "'The Rhysand Chronicles,' I wonder what this story is about..."
"I believe it's about this wonderful protagonist named Rhysand," I replied with a smirk playing on my lips.
She opened the book to the first page and read aloud, "Rhysand is gorgeous. Rhysand is spectacular. Rhysand is the best lover a female can ever dream of."
