Chapter 18 : To Make Things Right

"Saburou-san, have they located the terrorist?" Kouichi asked.

"The military haven't located them yet. It seems like someone is hindering them. All the clues found are now missing." He replied.

"They are taking too long! I cant wait that much. They have already bombarded 3 of my buildings. Although my wealth and power are still as it is, I can't forgive them for hurting my daughter. They are getting on my nerves." Kouichi said impatiently.

"Father im rounding up our own magicians to help us investigate as well. They will be helping Juumonji and his team. The security of all our estates and businesses are now on red alert. Mayumi's bodyguard is now doubled."

"Good. Where is she right now? Kouichi asked.

"On Hirofumi's manor." Saburou said.

"Okay that's better for her. Hirofumi would definitely protect her."

Meanwhile in Itsuwa's manor. Hirofumi is being taken care of Mayumi. With all their bodyguards standing outside to keep them safe.

"Our security have doubled huh?" Hirofumi said as Mayumi assisted her to walk in the garden.

"Are you uncomfortable with having this much security? After all Fumi-kun walks without guards at the University right?" Mayumi giggled

"You remembered? You noticed me before?" Hirofumi said sounding so surprise.

"Ah? I haven't told you but i got some of my memories back, well not all of it. But I remember you, since my friends got crush on you. Also you always talk to one of our professors as I recall." She smiled and sat beside Hirofumi.

"Ah that's Mister--"

"Hmm?" Mayumi wondered

"Nothing. I mean it is Mr. Sasaki one of the most outstanding professor in the university."

"I agree to that. He really is a good person. Though checking me all the time bothers me. *Laughs*"

"I see. Uhm so, you were saying your Uni friends got crush on me? Too bad. I think it would be nice if you are the one who likes me though."

"Fumi-kun. I think that you are not bad. As I spend time with you I... I somehow learn about you and get close to you. I realize that maybe someday, I will be able to return the feelings you have for me."

"Mayumi... I... I really like you. Saying it like that makes me regret things I have done." Hirofumi whispered and smiled warmly.

"Have you done something bad to me before?"

"Mayumi... I know that you haven't lost your memory. You don't need to act in front of me. Kouichi-san might believe you, but your brother and me don't. Isn't it? I think Tatsuya doesn't believe you as well. You are doing this to help him right? To help him lessen the burden of letting you go." Hirofumi said as he look deeply in her eyes and tucks her hair behind her ears.

"Fumi-kun stop it. Don't say anything anymore." Mayumi replied with tears accumulating in the corner of her eyes. She then trace his face with the palm of her hands "Now, you are the only one I want to learn to love. Let's not talk about him anymore, please."

"Yes... Im sorry." Hirofumi replied sadly and hugs her tightly.

"I... I want to learn... I want to learn to love Fumi-kun too." Mayumi mumbled

Hirofumi didn't say anything else but he hugs Mayumi more tightly, caressing the back of her head. He smiled with a hint of regret. Having Mayumi finally say things like wanting to love him, it makes his heart waver and regret all the underhanded things he did, making him want to make things right... for the woman he loves the most.
