Time with Caretaker Part 2

I open my eyes slowly. Where am I? I slowly sit up and look around. The first thing I laid my eyes on was the clock. 3:00 A.M. The usual. I stand up and stretch. The second thing I laid on caused a spark of curiosity.

I wonder if Cato has kept my clothes since I've left. I quickly walk over to my old,blue drawer. I put my hand on the bar and open the first drawer.

"I remember this dress!" I exclaim, holding up a plain blue dress. It was short-sleeved and reached my knees. I twirl around. Looks like I'll wear this dress today!

I had put on the dress and went downstairs. It was 3:15 A.M. when I entered the kitchen. "Morning." Yuri was getting ingredients out for breakfast.

"Morning Yuri." I get some ingredients out as well. Yuri stares at me.

"I'll cook Miss Welsh. You can rest a bit more. This must be early for someone your age." Yuri jokes around.

I laugh a bit. "This is her usual time of waking."

Cato stood there, which scared Yuri and I. "C-Cato!" we both exclaim at the same time. Cato laughs. He walks towards us.

"So, when are you leaving Jinj?" Cato says, sounding a bit sad. I take a moment to think.

"Maybe around midnight tonight." I answer, opening my brown bag. Yuri seemed surprised.

"Why that late?" Yuri asks. Cato sighs. He knew what I was going to say.

"I need to find my brothers as soon as I can..." I say, taking out a little mechanical device. It was the size of a bug. I'll give Cato this k.i.t bug so we can keep in touch

"What's this?" Cato asks, as I hand him a k.i.t bug. Yuri comes over to examine it.

"It's one of my k.i.t bugs. K.i.t means keep in touch. Press the back of the bug and it will tell you where I am. If you press the sides at the same time, it will call me." I explain.

"Impressive!" Yuri exclaims. Cato nods, putting the k.i.t bug in his pocket.

"Breakfast is ready!" I knock on Blake's door. He opens the door, holding a book. "I see you like to read." I smile. "Well, breakfast is ready!" I twirl around.

I knock on Clyde's door. "Breakfast!" I say, smiling. Clyde opens the door, stretching.

"Your awake before I am, surprising." Clyde yawns. I giggle.

I walk to Zuri's room. "Bre- ee!" All I see was the door opening and blackness. I fell the the ground.

"Oh, h-hey!" Zuri helps me sit up.

"Ouchy.." I rub my head and open my eyes. I giggle as he helps me stand.

"I'm sorry Jinj!" Zuri laughs. I twirl around and almost fall. Zuri catches me. I immediately blush. "Be easy you foolish girl." Zuri says.

It was noisy at the table. "We need to do something before midnight." Cato says. Everyone becomes quiet and stares at Cato. Yuri just kept eating.

"Why? Zuri asks.

"I'll be living at midnight." I explain. Everyone stares at me.

"Why? Can't you stay here and go to school?" Clyde asks. I shake my head. Clyde stands up. All attention went towards him. "Explain."

I look at him. "W-well.. uh.." I stutter. "W-why do you want to know?.." I ask, trying to avoid the explanation.

Clyde hits the table. "It's not right to leave a young girl all on her own. We all know, for a fact, that Cato would never leave someone all alone. Now explain." Clyde orders.

Cato stands up. "I know your worried Clyde but only I know why. She isn't comfortable telling people." Cato explains.

Should I tell them? Will they make fun of me? Will Cato have to erase their memories like the last bunch who knew and rioted?..

"You have to promise me that you won't laugh or riot.." I say. Everyone looks at me. I stared at the ground. "You see.. I'm not human, I'm a demon..."
