Old Friend, New Enemy

"Cato!" Zuri points up ahead. A village was ablaze. Cato and I nod towards each other.

"Stay here!" Cato says, dropping his bag. I do the same and whip out my sword, just as Cato whips out his sword. "Jinj, let's go!" Cato says. I nod and run towards the village. Cato runs beside my side.

"Everyone! Huh?!" Firebirds fly around. One dives towards me.

"Watch out!" Leaf whips her hand out, sending multiple leaf attacks at the firebird. It tears the bird apart.

They have weak bodies, yet they do great damage.. I examine. I know these firebirds.. Their stench.. "Jinj!" Zuri stumbles towards me. Everyone was behind him. I thought we told them to stay!

"Zuri! Stay back!" I slash three firbirds in a row. Leaf flies around and attacks as many firebirds as she can. Cato was protecting the villagers. A womenly laugh fills the village. I know that laugh!

"Maya!" I look around, then in the air. There she was. Her long black hair flowing in the wind, her red eyes peering down upon me, her gaze seemed filled with.. hatred.

"Jinj, such a long time!" Maya flew onto the roof of a hut, her wings silent as they flapped.

"Maya! This is wrong, and you know it!" I say, angrily. Maya looks up into the sky.

"Jinj, it's in our nature to kill. Even if it's for fun! Demons are supposed to be evil. Not get along with these disgusting humans. You should try being evil, it's such a joy. Brings out the best of a demon. You know you want to, Jinj." Maya laughs.

"This isn't right! I would never wish of this! What happened to you? You used to be good!" I practically yell.

"Who is she?!" Zuri interupts, catching Maya's attention. Maya smiles.

"Mmm, such a tasty looking human." Maya licks her lips. I immediatly point my sword at her as Yuri steps in front of Zuri, blocking him. "Jinj, how can you point your sword at me! I thougt I was your friend!" Maya laughs.

"I will kill you, no doubt. No one will come after my friends and harm them!" I say.

"Yea!" Leaf flies by me. Cato was fighting off the firebirds still. Maya sent them towards Cato so we could talk.

"Hmm, I will kill every last one of you. As well as you, old friend." Maya smirks.

"I'm afraid i'll be the one victorious, new enemy." I say, glaring at her.

"Firebirds, attack the humans! Leave the demon to me!" Maya points her staff at me.

"I'm a full demon too!" Leaf whines.

"Maya!" I use my powers to create steps towards Maya. I quickly ran up those steps, getting my sword ready. Maya smiles. She whips her staff in the air, sending a blast of fire straight at me! I grin, creating a barrier around myself. Be careful.. She knows most of your moves..

"Get ready!" I jump, getting out of the fire. My barrier goes down. "Huh?!" Maya had disappeared.

"You are the one who shall get ready!" I hear Maya's voice behind me. I quickly turn around, in mid-air, and shield myself with the sword as she strikes me. Her staff clashes against my sword. She's gotten stronger.. Maya pushes me, powerfully, onto the roof of a hut, causing the roof to collapse.

"Jinj!" I hear Zuri's worried voice. Maya laughs. I grin, growling to myself. I quickly jump out of the hole in the roof.

"I'm not weak, Maya!" I try to slash her with my sword. She blocks my attack with her staff. We turn each other around and push off of each other. I land on the ground, on the feet. Maya lands on her feet as well, but on the opposite side of me.

"I have to admit, you have grown smarter since we last met." Maya examines. I glare at her. Maya smirks.

"You're still weak." Cato flies towards Maya. Maya grins, dodging his attack. Cato slams into the ground, dirt flying everywhere. "All you can do is dodge. Your not quick though." Cato says, standing.

"Yes! She's weak!" Leaf exclaims.

"Shut your trap or I'll kill you!" Maya angrily threatens, pointing her staff at Leaf. Leaf squeals and hides in my hair.

"Don't you threaten her!" I point my sword at Maya angrily. Cato and I look at each other. We nod. Maya.. You have lost yourself.. I'm sorry but.. We have to end you.. Here and now!
