I Want You Back

My side of the story

{LUCY'S POV}
I suppose I should give my side of the story.

After Loke left with Nashi, Tee and I were locked in fierce combat with Jared, Matthias, and Regina. Jared uses sand magic, and I fought him mainly with Virgo. Matthias uses plant magic, but even his forest of vines couldn't stand against Cancer's scissors. Regina uses lunar magic, and without the moon powering her up, she was no match for Tee's wind. Our battle actually ended with their retreat.

I felt Loke go back to the celestial spirit world sometime during the melee, so I knew that Nashi was alright, because my spirits think of Nashi like a little sister. Loke wouldn't leave her unless he was absolutely certain that she was safe. Even so, Tee and I traveled to Magnolia. We stayed in my old house, and the lady lady cried when she saw me.

We arrived at Fairy Tail, and I was going to reveal myself, but then Nashi met Natsu for the first time. Seeing everyone together made me have a mini panic attack and chicken out. Tee was so annoyed with me.

The second time we went to the guild hall was just before Jared, Regina, and Matthias attacked. We were the ones who set off the explosion that alerted the guild both times. The guild did alright in the first attack, so we didn't show ourselves.

I followed Natsu and the girls to the East Forest, and became an emotional wreck as I watched Natsu and Nashi train together. They were so cute! By that time, Tee was ready to tell the guild about me herself. She hated that I kept putting off telling them for what she called stupid reasons. But I was nervous about how they might react.

Nashi took care of that by telling everyone about us herself. I was so proud, and Tee was just relieved we didn't have to hide anymore. Jared's triad came before we did, so we waited to see if they needed us. After Matthias knocked out most of the members and Nashi fainted, I decided it was time to step in. That leads me to after the fight.

I'm sitting at the bar apologizing profusely to my friends. The only time Levy-chan stopped hugging me and crying was when she and Juvia introduced their daughters with Gajeel and Gray. Emma and Sylvia are both so adorable!

Natsu hasn't talked to me. Or moved for that matter. He's sitting quietly at a table in the back, watching me with a stunned expression. Sometimes his gaze flicks to Nashi, but it always comes back to me.

"You should go talk to him!" Mira winks at me, cleaning a glass behind the bar. I twitch in my seat.

"But Mira! What if he's mad or something?" I whisper worriedly. I don't want Natsu to hate me. Even after all these years I still love him.

"Do you honestly think he'd be mad?" Mira asks seriously. I can't move under her intense stare.

"Lu-chan, we all were really beaten up about your death. Natsu especially. All he wanted was to have you back." Levy-chan says encouragingly. I stand. The guild quiets as I walk over to where Natsu sits.

"Natsu," I begin, only to get interrupted.

"You named her Nashi." His bangs cover his eyes.

"Huh?" I'm so confused.

"Before you left, you asked me what I would name my kids if I ever had any, and I told you Luke or Nashi." Natsu looks up, and I'm startled to find that he's crying. "Why didn't you tell me? What did I do that made you think I wanted you to leave?"

"I..." My tongue feels heavy, and I trail off knowing that all eyes are on us. "Let's take a walk." We leave the guild hall, wandering aimlessly over to a park before Natsu speaks again.

"Whatever I did, I promise I'll never do it again. So please don't leave!" Natsu begs. I smile.

"Nashi's made a lot of good friends, and Tee wants to make up with everyone. I have no intention of leaving. If you'll take me back." I avert my eyes. Here comes the moment of truth. Rejection?

Not even close. Natsu pulls me close and kisses me, and it's like fireworks explode. I'm so stunned. When he pulls away, there are a few wolf whistles from other people in the park, making both of us blush madly. Maybe it's just me, but I hear Mira squealing as well.

"Luce. I would never ever want you to leave again. If anyone does, I'll beat 'em up, and that's a promise! So stay with me Luce! Fairy Tail is where you'll always belong, got it?" He locks eyes with me. This is the first time I've seen him this serious, or this desperate. I hug him. After a moment, he returns my hug, squeezing me tightly.

"Natsu—"

"I love you Luce. I was gonna tell you after your job with Tee, but you never came back. I'm so sorry! I should have told you ages ago." He interrupts.

"I love you too." I finish, beginning to tear up. I never thought Natsu felt this way about me too. I guess that makes me the dense one.
