Miya's Point of View

4 Months Later

I'm finally better where everything healed perfectly. There was no permanent brain damage or anything wrong. I did have to go to counseling and take antidepressants though. I still live with BTS too. They pretty much insisted I stayed with them as well when I was being released. I started to hang out with my mom and dad more often as well. Everything started to feel like a real family....except Jackson. We've texted a few times but it's been really awkward. We finally found some time to hang out though.

It was so uncomfortable at first. We had so much bad memories of each other but now trying to forget them all.

"Can you tell me what your adopted family like? Did you have any other brothers?"

The question I wished he never asked. But I guess he deserves to know as well.

''They gave me an education and put me through sports I wanted to try in the beginning. Then they had twin boys when I was 5 or maybe 6. After that, they forgot about me. While we were all growing up, my brothers and I never connected. They actually hated me as well. When I turned 10 I got into dance. I actually started to teach classes till....18. Then I left because my parents told me they never loved me. But when I found that letter, I was happy. I was thinking how I could have a new beginning or a new start in a way. The rest you know."

He seemed sad hearing about my past. But if only he knew the rest. I don't know where Jackson and I stand but I don't care anymore. I love my brother. But I always miss him. The worst part though was seeing Jackson. Sometimes I have this feeling to just hug him. To remind myself that it's all real, but we aren't close enough for me to do that. It hurts so much too.

I've always wanted that older brother who would protect me from the monsters under my bed, who was my best friend growing up, just someone to fight with about the stupid things. But too much time has passed for us to be like that. Since we're getting better though, everyday has been a bit of an adventure. When we do talk we find small things they we both like. It may be small to someone but to me, it's a big deal. But at the end of the day, I'm still alone. My chest started to hurt.

"Hey Miya, look at me." Jackson said.

I slowly met his eyes and they looked so sad.

"I know I'm not the best brother but I want to try. So...you and JB?"

I couldn't help but laugh. His mouth held a smile but his eyes were twitching. So as a good little sister....you play around.

"We've been on a few dates and he kissed me each time."

Jackson's face changed pretty quick while whipping out his phone. I couldn't help but laugh.

"I was kidding Jackson! Call off whatever you said to JB. We only talk, I swear. I do find him cute though."

He seemed to relax a bit but he still had a small twitch.

"But he hasn't talked to me much since I've been released. So maybe we'll just be friends. Plus, I have you now....and 7 other guys."

We both started to laugh at that. Deep down, Jackson has a sense of humor. He just needs to get to know you.
