Chapter 6.1

The Silent Road

* * *

[A/ N: 1. The following Chapter adds another Character to the story, Natasha Madan and takes us back to the Red Fort Investigation. The idea of The Silent Road was so lengthy, that I had to divide it into two parts, the first part will dig up a past incident and second part will continue the story we left in the last chapter.]

(Natasha)

Behavioral Investigation Department, CBI that dealt with the homicide and urban crime cases, was on the topmost floor, surrounded by eerie silence. Natasha Madan held her breath, counted three and entered his empty cabin, expecting a new life (that she always wanted.)

Her hair were an undisciplined mess, and her mouth was dry.  She was worried about her first impression which, as she thought, would be a disaster. Detective Kaizan wasn't an easy person, to deal with.

Her grey eyes inspected the room, as she was taught in the academy, slowly observing the detective's office and all the antics it contained. There were many photos of killers, places, strange faces, politicians, important people, etc and then there were maps on the wall. A fake skeleton stood in the corner and a huge bundle of old files rested in the corner. A huge board hung on the wall, holding multicolored charts and handwritten notes.

She grabbed one of the chairs and took out her files. She, like a good student, had almost studied the case from all possible angles. She was expecting a thorough test from the Detective, to test her skills, and she was determined to not disappoint him.

She summarized the case in her mind for the millionth time and crossed her fingers.

All the murders, if they were actually murders, were committed near Red Fort, a heavily populated area, and yet no one saw anything. It wasn't a sudden crime, or an act of revenge, but a highly motivated homicide. The killer or killers didn't only kill those boys but also intended to send a message.

What could this message mean?

The locals discovered those bodies and reported to police. Police mishandled the case and ended up destroying valuable evidence if there were any, and suddenly the news spread like fire and was even posted on various channels, but then it was taken down.

The department cleared their hands by saying dead bodies couldn't be identified, and soon enough, media houses almost forgot the killings. It didn't make sense. It could have become a great story, attracting lots of TRPs, but some powerful didn't want it in public domain. But it was just her theory and Kaizan would probably wouldn't believe.
