Lauren POV

I was a little taken aback by the shorter girls confession of my nickname to say the least, but it was obviously flattering. I know that we're going to be good friends, I can feel it. You know when you just know? She's special. Camila. Her name has been going through my mind on replay since she introduced herself to me. In Latin, the name Camila means noble. I'm excited to see if she lives up to that beautiful name and possesses great qualities, I feel like she will.

I can't quite tell if she likes me or hates me so far, too many things have gotten in the way for us to just have a normal conversation. After last night's ordeal, Camila and I parted to our separate rooms to settle in for our first night and we haven't spoken since. I decide since we both don't know anybody here yet that it'd be nice to ask her if she'd like to explore and maybe see a few tourist attractions with me. I'm a little worried that I'm pushing a friendship on her too fast that she might not even want, but I go for it anyway. As I walk down the hallway and stop outside her room, I hear her talking to somebody through the slightly open door. I'm about to walk away when I notice that she's talking in Spanish...about me. I mean it's not like she's even hushing her voice in fear that I could hear, so temptation sets in and I eavesdrop.

"Yes mama, I met a girl named Lauren."

"Yes mama, she will take good care of me, no I won't let you talk to her."

"Because it's emabarassing-no you're not embarrassing me I'm just, mama she's beautiful. Like drop dead beautiful and I get all awkward and weird around her."

"I will try to be myself. I know mama. I love you too, I will call you later. Tell Sofi I miss her."

I realise that I'm still stood at her door and she's been silent for like a minute, so my body reacts before my brain can tell it to stop and I knock on her door.

"Yeah?"

I walk into her room, she looks a little startled and flustered like I've caught her out, I think back to her conversation with her mom. Does this girl have a crush on me? I internally scoff at the thought. I naturally scan the new territory and note how family oriented Camila is, which is evident through the amount of pictures in her room. The smaller girl catches me smiling and interrupts my thoughts, bringing me to realise I'm just stood in her room and haven't said a word.

"Earth to Lauren." She says, waving her hands in front of my face. I laugh, she's so dorky.

"Oh hey, yeah sorry I just came to ask if you wanted to hang out, get to know the city a little better and maybe each other too."

I notice the look of contemplation on her face.

"Yeah sure, why not. Sounds like fun. Let me just grab my coat."

"Grab your coat, you've pulled." I try to joke.

"What?"

"I was researching a few British things before coming here, it's like a popular pick up line. That was my attempt at a joke."

She giggles, almost relieved.

We head out, deciding to familiarise ourselves with using the tube. It doesn't take long before Camila is mimicking the 'mind the gap' speech at every single stop. Camila wanted to see the London eye and I wanted to go to London dungeons which meant we could kill two birds with one stone, considering they were next to each other. We get off at Waterloo station and take a short walk to the attractions. As we get our tickets and head into the dungeons, I can't help myself but tease the smaller girl.

"Hey Camila, are you nervous?" I raise my eyebrows subjectively.

"Yeah, I'm literally fearing for my life right now, I can't believe you're forcing me to do this."

I hold out my hand for her to take, which she does without questioning. I continue to taunt.

"Dont worry Camz, I'll take good care of you...won't I?"
