Lauren POV

"Um, are you following me? What the hell are you doing here?"

Her tone is sharp but I can sense that she is scared. I stumble over my words with confusion.

"Uh, I, wha..what? What do you mean what am I doing here? What are you doing here? How..how did you get in here?"

She looks just as biwildered as I'm feeling right now and I catch myself finding her grimace endearing, which I mentally slap myself for. This is creepy, so fucking creepy.

"I got in with my key. I just moved in, like an hour ago. Ok now your turn to explain."

I know it's an unthinkably strange scenario but I don't know why she's being so snappy with me.

"Okay, well this is weird. I told you at the airport that I was moving to London. I'm going to be studying here, it's always been my dream to move to London, so here I am."

The shorter girl is studying me. Literally eyeing me up head to toe like I'm a threat.

"No, this is too coincidental Lauren. I don't believe you, I'm freaked out right now. I need a minute."

She goes to excuse herself before it dawns on me.

"Wait. Hey, wait...how do you know my name?" Now I'm more freaked out.

She stands still for a moment like she's putting something together in her head.

"Oh my God, oh my God, you're stalking me aren't you? I found your little drawing of me on the airplane, that's how I know your name. You..you signed it. Please tell me you're not obsessed with me and have followed me here to like, kill me."

Her facial expression is complete panic, whilst mine is flustered with embarrassment. She found my drawing? Shit, I actually look like a creep.

I try to explain myself.

"No, no, no, please let me explain. I'm studying art. It's what I do, I mean I don't usually draw strangers but uh, you interested me, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have, but I promise I'm telling the truth, you're right this is like some freaky Friday shit. I guess you're like, my roommate?"

Camila POV

It's a lot to process and entirely crazy but I start to believe her. I guess I just have this mind set that everybody is a threat to me. I still find myself not being able to give her eye contact though. As soft as she seems, those eyes man. They could kill.

"I have your drawing actually, if you'd like it back. As weirded out as I might be right now, you're really good. Like reaaaally good. Roommates huh? Well I suppose we made good first impressions with each other."

I look up from the floor when I hear Lauren giggle, and I subconsciously smile to myself for making a pretty girl laugh.

"You know, maybe it's not that weird. Maybe the agency put us together because we're in similar situations, right? I mean, where both from Miami, both around the same age I'm assuming and both wanted to house share in London."

I take a moment to think the theory over and to be fair, it's a pretty good one.

"Yeah, that does make sense."

"Well since we're going to be living together and you already know my name, I think it's only fair that I know yours. So far I've just been nicknaming you 'girl from the plane', that's what I was going to name my drawing."

I feel my face burning up and I cover my face with my hands.

"What? What is it?"

"Your nickname for me, I actually um, I had one for you too."

"Tell me." She demands.

"No! No way, it's embarrassing, I shouldn't have even said anything."

"Tell me." Lauren says again but in a whiny tone this time, poking me in my sides. I get butterflies at the contact.

"No, Lauren. Never." I mimic zipping my lips shut and throwing away the key.

She takes it upon herself to launch herself at me and tickle me. I flap about uncontrollably, screaming the word no repeatedly, followed by Lauren pestering me to tell her. I am defeated. I can't take a second more.

"OKAYYYY. Okay. Okay. Okay." She frees me from her grip. The room is silent for a moment before I speak again.

"It was, i-okay don't judge me. It was.. 'The Goddess."

She stays silent for moment before a smirk graces her face.

I decide I don't want to stay on this topic any longer than needed, so I stretch my arm out to her.

"I'm Camila."
