Camila POV
The girl at the gate, what is she? Like my knight in shining armour and I'm her damsel in distress? I seriously wonder for a second whether my parents have hired her to spy on me to make sure I'm okay. That was a ridiculous thought, but it is even more ridiculous to believe that this girl cares about my well-being. She doesn't even know me.This is confirmed after I string out the 'I hate flying' line and she just stares at me for a few seconds before getting out of her seat and walking away. So I just sit. Feeling worse than before. Just waiting for this flight to end. Or drop out of the sky according to my irrational anxious thoughts.
I decided to put a movie on my tiny economy class tv. The notebook, one of my all time favourites. There's nothing like a little Ryan Gosling to distract you from your thoughts.
I look back to the seat that 'The Goddess' was sitting in. That's what I nickname her now. I see that she has occupied the seat once again and is leaning down on her tray table, appearing to be drawing in a sketchbook. A concerntrated look on her face. She looks so intimidatingly cute.
I'm back into my movie and trying my hardest to ignore my surroundings and the most dreadful neausia in my stomach. That's when I'm disturbed by a few gentle taps on my arm. Though gentle, I still jump a little at the unexpected contact.
"Hi ma'am, I'm sorry to disturb you but your friend over there told us that you're a little bit of a nervous flyer, so I have brought you some things to help ease the sickness feeling." A softly spoken man in British Airways attire spoke whilst offering me some tonic water and anti sickness pills. I thank him kindly and look over to my 'friend' and mouth a little thank you to her. She responded by sticking her tongue out at me.Lauren POV
Time went by quite quickly once I started sketching. I don't think there is long left to go now. At first I was just drawing flowers and wildlife. Nature is mostly always the inspiration behind my art. Whilst there was nothing that seemed natural to me about floating through the air in basically a tin can, my eyes obviously were drew towards a real natural beauty on board because when I looked down at my paper, I realised I had subconsciously been sketching her.The cabin crew began preparing for landing as I finished my sketch, tidying my supplies away and waiting not so patiently to get off this seemingly never ending flight. Once we land, I practically am racing my way out of the airport with excitement to breathe some real fresh air.
Camila POV
I woke from a nap mid landing, so thankful that this is finally over and I survived the journey. Now the anxiety is moving a side to make way for a little excitement to finally kick in. What will my room be like? Will I like London? Will I make any friends?I always wait for most passengers to disembark the flight before me as I'm not a fan of the pushing and shoving. When it's finally a little clear, I make my way towards the back of the aircraft to the exit. I walk past The Godess' seat to be met with disappointment, realising she had already left. I know I don't know her but her presence made me feel somewhat calm, safe almost. I found myself feeling some form of sadness over probably never seeing her again. Sadness turned to confusion as I notice one of her sketches left on her seat. Curiousity took over and I observed the drawing closer. Did she purposely leave this for me to find? The resemblance was uncanny and she was clearly a talanted artist. I just wanted to know why. Why me? Had she been staring at me whilst drawing it? I suddenly felt self conscious. She had signed it at the bottom.
I now had a name for the stranger, Lauren.
