"Lina!" Green calls. The voices below us lower to silence and I hear the screech of our ropes being lowered.
A group of people with mud cracked on their faces and cruel grins twisted into their faces. I suppress a shiver and glance at Green. She gives me a light smile and leans forward so she's practically nose-to-nose with the girl that lowered us.
"What?" Lina hisses, narrowing her black circled eyes.
"Well it's just that boy wonder over here just woke up, and he's hungry," I glare at her, but she just continues to look at Lina.
"Not my problem," Lina says, reaching for the rope.
"He won't be a good fighter if he's weak," Green warns, her voice slow and casual.
"He not fight. He faint," a few people snicker and I glare in their direction.
"This time, yes. But he'a as good as me," Green says. I laugh lightly and glare at her.
"What are you doing?" I hiss Green just smiles.
"Prove it," Lina says.
"Alright, let him fight your best warrior," Green says smugly. My eyes widen and I stare at her like she's crazy. She is crazy. Lina smiles and nods, turning to a boy next to her and saying something in a language I didn't understand. The boy runs off and she cuts the line to my cage. It clatters to the floor and she holds the door open for me.
"And if he wins we go free," Green adds quickly. Luna examines me and nods.
"Deal."
People grab me and someone tears off my shirt. They smear cold mud onto my chest and in my hair, making it spike at odd angles. I glance at Green but she's been lifted back into the treetops.
"Come Boy," some guy shouts, grappling my arm and tossing me into some circle. A big burly guy with black mud under his eyes is on the edge of the other side. As he sees me he smiles, revealing rotted teeth.
"Don't cross over rocks or loose," a girl whispers, gently touching my arm. I stare down into golden eyes. The girl had gold eyes, brown hair, and a silver necklace with an infinity sign on it. she nods, disappearing into the crowd. I gulp and turn back to my opponent. Mojo taught us weapons training, but never hand to hand. But I'm a superhuman, I can take this guy!
"Fight!" some guy on a tree limb calls out. It must have been the signal because the other dude came charging towards me. I ran at him, gasping as our bodies impact. It was like hitting a rock! Wait...rock!
I close my eyes and dig my feet into the mud. I feel it harden over my feet, locking me into place and I smile. I move away, making him fall forward a few steps and push my foot into the ground. A rock just out under the guy and flings him up in the air.
Everyone is silent as the guy falls, just outside the circle. Lina stares at me with anger and the girl before stands next to her, smiling.
"Put him back in the cage," Lina commands. I feel something click onto my wrists, binding them together. Metal.
"We had a deal!" I shout, fighting anyone who came close to me. What I would give to have Brick's fire power right now!
"Deal is off!" Lina says lowly. The girl looks sad and turns to argue with Lina. Someone manages to knock me off my feet and lock my ankles together. I wriggle on the floor, gritting my teeth.
"Night night," the guy that was on the tree limb whispers before kicking me in the head.
"You know you can't always be the warrior," it was the girl again, her face still blurred to unrecognizable. She had a wet cloth and was dabbing my bloody face.
"Yeah, but it's fun," I say. She shakes her head, and pulls away the cloth. She looks up to me and I see two shinning green eyes.
"Fun? Is death fun to you?" her tone was still humorous but it had a lower tone to it.
"Anything for you is fun. If it's death than so be it," I pronounce. The girl laughs and more of her face clears away.
"I would never enforce death on you," she whispers, smiling. A little more of her face clears, showing rosy cheeks. A blush.
"Then I would die for you, Buttercup," I assure her. Her whole face clears and I gasp when it's Green. She smiles and gently kisses my cheek.
"I'm glad."
"Butch! Butch let's go! Get off your lazy ass!" Slowly my eyes open and I see Green, or Buttercup, above me she seems eager, but relieved as I sit up. I look around and see that we're on the ground, back in the prairie.
"How?" I ask, looking around.
"I don't know," Buttercup says with a shake of her head. I push myself up and feel something under my hand. Buttercup was trying to figure our where we were so she didn't notice.
I pick up the item and smile. In the light of the moon I see a silver necklace with a silver eight. I look towards the east and smile. "Thank you."
"Who are you talking to?" Buttercup asks harshly, narrowing her eyes. I smile and shrug.
"I'm insane, why else?" I ask modestly. She rolls her eyes and gets to her feet. "Hey, Green?"
"What?" she snaps.
"I would die for you, you know that right?" I ask. She seems shocked at my words and frowns, but her eyes are light and caring.
"I'm glad," she says, turning and walking. I smile and follow after her. Not Green, BC, or Butters. Just Buttercup
