"What?" I shout, turning to look at Buttercup. Grabbing the boy's forearms. He grabs mine and I stare into reflective green eyes. Suddenly the green rips apart and swivels in and out like a camera lens.

"Robot versions of us!" Buttercup shouts, ducking under her younger selfs punch. She kicks her legs out, causing the robot to land on the floor with a clank.

I dig my feet into the earth and Buttercup manages to force it around my feet before having to dodge her robot. She growls and pushes her hands towards the robot. A sheet of earth rises before her and encases her self to a tree. The robot struggles but it's useless.

"Duck!" she screams at me. I do so and my robot's metal arm swishes over my head before being blasted back by Buttercup. I look up and see a mound lightly shaking in the ground.

"Why are they here?" I ask, coming up to look at Buttercup's robot. The earth wave tore off half of its face, exposing sparking wires, metal, and a red eye.

"To stop us or whatever," Buttercup pants, leaning forward on her knees. I look down and see the red fruit lying on the floor. I smile, grabbing it up and holding it out to her. She looks at it and raises an eyebrow. "Thanks, but how will you eat?"

"Don't worry about me," I say, pushing the fruit into her hands. She grips it numbly, staring down at her own glossy reflection and then looking back up at me.

"Thanks," she says faintly, the amount of strength obviously zapped out of her.

"Remember, I would die for you," I say, winking. She takes a bite of the apple like fruit and juice begins dripping down her face. She closes her eyes, relishing the taste and glances at me. I don't even feel slightly hungry.

"How can I forget?" She murmurs. I smile at her and eventually she finishes the fruit, tossing it under the tree-right between the robots feet.

"So what now?" I ask curiously, glancing at Buttercup's robot. It just calmly stared back at me, it's red eyes swiveling. I walk up to it and flick the eyes, shattering the glass.

"What's that for?" Buttercup asks. I turn to her and smile.

"You might have been too busy being earth goddess, but I noticed these scumbags taking pictures," I say proudly, puffing out my chest.

"Whoa there, put that away big boy," Buttercup laughs, pushing my chest back in with the palm of her hand. I blush slightly and rub my head. God we were dirty. I pull my hand away and look at all the specs of dust and dirt.

"Well I know what I'm doing next," I say, rubbing it on my pants. Buttercup raises an eyebrow and folds her arms.

"And what would that be?" she asks, hinting at a smile.

"I'm finding some water and washing off," I snort. Buttercup rubs her hair, earning a hand full if dirt and laughs.

"Sometimes having water elemental seems better and better," she laughs, referring to Bubbles.

"Yup, she can just spray herself down," I agree, starting to walk. Buttercup folks me, shaking her head.

"There's be no need, she wouldn't risk getting herself dirty," she says. We laugh at our wits and start our search for natures bath.

*************************************

We finally found a shallow pound with talk grasses surrounding it and I agreed to keep watch while Buttercup cleaned up. It was big enough for two but Buttercup refused my suggestion, slapping me along the way.

I start to walk a few meters away from the watering hole and examine the land. Just a bunch of green grass.

A scream comes from the hole and I turn, panic filling my chest. I run over there and see Buttercup in the water staring at something. Thankfully only her head is visible.

I follow her eyes and laugh. Standing on a rock right in front of her is a little meerkat, it's ears swiveling at Buttercup.

"Get it away!" she screams, splashing water at him. He scampers to another rock and resumes his position.

"Oh relax you scary cat, it's just a little meerkat. Practically a babe," I say, coming down and sitting next to it. He looks up to me and scampers onto my knee while Buttercup watches in horror. The meerkat tilts it's head at me and then scampers up my arm, furrowing into the nape of my neck. "Aww he likes me!"

"Keep it with you," Buttercup hisses, glaring at me. "And get out, I'm not done."

"Pesky woman," I murmur, climbing out. The meerkat stands up in my shoulder, chirping in agreement. I laugh and smile at him. "I like you."

"Aren't you going in?" Buttercup asks. It's been twenty minutes since she got out and her hair looks like a spiked ball.

"Nope, Scamp'll just dirty me up again," I giggle, poking the little meerkat.

"You named it?" she asks, disgusted.

"He's not an it, and yes, I did," I say, smirking. Buttercup rolls her eyes and flattens out her hair. "he's all by himself...kinda like you BC."

"Hardy hat har! Whatever, just keep him away from me," she says, swishing her flat hair and starting to walk.

"At least she called you a him," I suggest to the meerkat. Scamp tilts his head and crawls onto my head, keeping lookout. I laugh and start after Buttercup.

I thought I needed a happy chapter after the last one. Next one-Boomer and Bubbles! Hope you enjoy!
