(Prom night continues)
Erika's POV

The night was winding down and me and the gang left the school and hopped back into the limo. Everyone got dropped back of at their house, even though it cost extra for that. Jake got out at my house and was just going to walk to his from there. So we got dropped off, and the limo drived away. We walked into my porch and sat on the swing. I put my arm around his shoulder and rubbed his back.

"I had an awesome time tonight." I said.

"Yeah, me too!" He put his hand on my leg.

"So... I've been thinking about something to do for my future. And I want to start getting towards it this summer."

"Okay, what is it? So like a career?"

"Um, yeah, it could be. Can I just say all of it and then you can say what you think?"

"Yeah, of course Jake,"

"Ok, so over the past month or so I've been thinking about my future and I think I know what I want to do. Which is to move to LA and start doing YouTube."

"What?" I said.

"Hold on. And you know how I'm not really great at school?"

"Yeah, but you just need to apply yourself more,"

"So... I want to drop out of high school. I can drop out, and move to LA over the summer, and start YouTube."

"But what about school? What about your whole life here? What about me?"

"My whole life, I've never been good at school. Math and English and everything else, it just isn't for me. I want to do this so bad, babe. Will you come with me?" Jake put his arm around me, trying to comfort me.

"What?! Jake-"

"Please, we can move there together, and even get an apartment there together."

"Jake! I can't drop out of school! Do you realize what you're asking me to do? To leave my whole life here behind, and not even with a high school diploma!"

"I know, but I really think I can do this, please Erika."

"No, Jake, I...I can't do that. As much as I love you, I can't. Maybe when I graduate, but.."

"Well what should I do then? What should we do?"

"I don't know, I'm really surprised and this was the last thing I thought you would talk to me about."

"I really, really want to do this. And my great-great-grandpa left me a $10,000 college fund. I can use that to move out and buy a camera and everything."

"Wow, okay. Well, I guess putting feelings aside,  you should go for what you want to do. But I want to finish school and go to college. This will be really hard for us."

"I know, and I can't imagine not spending every day with you. Maybe I can come back for Christmas and stuff. "

"So this is actually happening? Did you tell your family?"

"No, but that reminds me. I could ask if Logan would want to move with me."

"Wow, I mean that might work, if he wants to do that sort of thing."

"Yeah." We sat for a minute in silence, our heads leaning on each other.

"I'm gonna miss you. I can't believe this is actually what's going to happen. It'll be a long distance relationship, but I hope we can make it work." He said.

"I'm gonna miss you so much Jake! I guess both of us just have different dreams. Maybe I could try to go to UCLA or something and be by you once I graduate."
