Initiation

Time went by fast, a little too fast for my liking. I'm lucky Ozpin told me who the team was going to be, so now I know who I'm working with in terms of partners. I worked flawlessly with everyone in combat, but, surprisingly, I worked best with Mercury. It's probably because our weapons are similar. I would find out in a few days. I walked over to Ozpin's office. "Excuse me, Professor Ozpin? Do you have a moment?" I asked.

"Of course, Milo. What is it?" Ozpin was looking out the window.

"Um, I have a couple questions about initiation and school."

"Join me over here." I walked over to the window. "Beautiful, isn't it?" His office overlooked all of Vale.

"Wow. It really is." No one was out that early in the morning. Just the silent kingdom.

"What are your questions?"

"Do I have a schedule?"

"Yes. I'm sorry- it seems I forgot to send yours to you. It is the same as your teammates' schedule. It is also the same as teams RWBY and JNPR's schedules." We migrated to his computer. "You have Grimm Studies with Professor Port first thing in the morning, History with Doctor Oobleck after that, and Dust Studies with Ms. Branwen after that. In the afternoon, you have Sparring with Professor Goodwitch and you end the day with Self Defense with Mr. Branwen."

"Thanks. And about initiation, what will I do with Scavenger?"

"The first part of initiation will be you working without her. You will find your partner by yourself and make it to the temple with them. After you exit the temple, you may call in Scavenger whenever you would like. She will be waiting in a dropship for your call. Now let me ask you something. Who do you hope your partner will be?"

"I... I don't know. I work well with everyone. I'm indifferent to who my partner is."

"I've seen you fight with them. You are very versatile in your fighting strategy. Very adaptable. Personally, I think you would work the best with Ilia. I saw how Ilia used her whip to overload your Aura with electricity so you could use your semblance to its full effect. I recommend you use that strategy during the Vytal Festival."

"It hurts to do that. The shockwave may be powerful, but it hurts."

"Well, it certainly works effectively. I will tell you and the others when initiation starts."

"Thank you." I turned on my heel and left his office.

—-(Timeskip of 48 Hours)—-

One day before all the students return. I'll be honest, I'm not looking forward to that. Ozpin decided to have me and the others go through initiation a day before the other students returned, but the team ceremony will take place the day after. I put on my pilot jumpsuit and grabbed my weaponry. Professor Goodwitch's voice came on through the speakers. "Would Emerald Sustrai, Mercury Black, Milo Hunter, and Ilia Amitola please reoprt to Beacon Cliff for initiation? I repeat, would Emerald Sustrai, Mercury Black, Milo Hunter, and Ilia Amitola please reoprt to Beacon Cliff for initiation?"

I guess this is it. I holstered my Mozambiques and sheathed my picks. Looking through Scavenger's weapon vault, I attached three guns to my back: a Kraber AP, an R-97, and an EVA-8 shotgun. I loaded a fresh revolver chamber into my hand with fire dust. I loaded a fresh EMP generator as well. I also attached my grappling hook onto my left wrist. After I made sure my boots had ammo, I walked over to Scavenger. "I can only use you after I partner up and grab a relic. Understand?"

"PROFESSOR OZPIN WAS HERE EARLIER. I AM WELL AWARE OF WHEN I CAN BE DEPLOYED." She attached her scythe to her back and loaded her Splitter Rifle.
