Edgar's P.O.V.
I will create a good life for my daughter. It will be good for me in the long run. I stared at my daughter. She looked nothing like me. She looked just like her mother.
"Ready to go, sweetheart?" I asked. She rattled her chains in response.
"Why haven't you said my name?" she asked.
"I know it. It's Laurel."
"Wrong."
"Lucy?"
"Wrong again!"
"Layla?"
"Closer."
"What is it?"
"Lelia," she sighed.
"Oh..."
"What a great father," she said sarcastically. "Don't even know your own daughter's name."
I fake laughed. "Still getting used to this whole father thing."
"I can tell."
"Let's at least try to get to know each other."
"Why would I want to know you?" Her voice was filled with disgust.
"Temper, sweetie," I purred.
*2 hours later*
Lelia's P.O.V.
It was night now. I paced back and forth, my chains dragging on the ground.
I heard a tapping on the window. The tapping grew louder and more insistent. I looked up and saw Eren, Levi, and Armin. Armin was unconscious. Eren opened the window and whispered. "We're here to save you."
"Why is Armin unconscious?" I asked.
"Long story."
"Okay."
"Climb out."
I shook my head. "Can't."
"Why not?"
"Chains," I raised my arm and the chains rattled.
"I'll climb through the window," Eren said. He couldn't fit.
"Move, Jaeger," Levi said and successfully crawled through.
"Do you have a lock pick?" I asked.
Levi turned back towards the window. "Jaeger, get the lock pick off Arlert."
"Yes, sir," Eren disappeared from view as he got the lock pick off Armin. "Here you go, sir."
He handed the key to Levi.
I held my wrists out as my brother began to pick the locks. In about two minutes, I was free.
"Thanks," I said, rubbing my wrists. "How did you guys make it past the guards?"
"We'll tell you later," Levi replied. He helped me out the window and we snuck across the grounds. Armin began to wake up after about ten minutes. We set him on the ground.
"What happened to you?" I asked as Armin sat up and rubbed his head.
"I was bait," he groaned.
"Bait?"
"We had to draw the guards away somehow."
"What about you?" Levi asked. "They didn't do anything to you, right?"
"Nothing too bad," I replied.
"Are you sure?" Eren asked. "That bruise looks pretty bad."
"It's fine."
Eren looked at me for a moment then looked down. "Sh-shouldn't we go now?"
"Where is she?" a voice yelled in the distance.
"Let's go," Levi said. We set off at a run, trying to make it to the gate.
Once we entered the gates, I breathed a sigh of relief.
"Only if we had some ice for your bruises," Armin muttered.
"I'll be fine," I replied. "If anything, we should get ice for your face and head."
Armin's face was bruised and there was a lump from where one of the guards hit him on the head.
"Where are we supposed to get some?" Eren asked.
"I'm fine, guys, really," Armin said. "Don't worry about me."
"Keep moving," Levi commanded.
Eventually, we reached the barracks. I had only been gone for about two days, but everyone was worried about me.
"Lelia!" Krista exclaimed, running over and throwing her arms around me. The next hug came from Mikasa. Sasha offered me half of her potato as a 'welcome back' gift. The guys laughed and patted me on the back.
"We're glad you're back," Jean said while patting my head.
"I'm glad to be back," I replied.
"Are any of you injured?" Mikasa asked. She sounded concerned for everyone, but stared at Eren as she said it.
"We're fine," Eren said. "A few bumps and bruises but that's all. Armin has a possible concussion and Lelia's a bit beat up.
Mikasa nodded and went to get some bandages. Levi disappeared to wherever he spent his time. Most likely, he was having cleaning withdrawals.
The crowd around me slowly disappeared and I was left with Eren and Armin.
"Thanks again," I said.
"Yeah, no problem," Eren replied. A slight pink tint was forming on his face. Was he blushing?
"What happened to you?" Armin asked.
"This man claimed to be my father and tried to force me to join the Military Police and marry some rich guy."
"Then why are you beat up?"
"I'm pretty stubborn if I want to be."
Eren laughed. "You're right about being stubborn."
*Flashback: 6 months ago*
"Lelia, please don't join the Survey Corps," Eren pleaded.
"I want to," I replied.
"Please..."
"Eren, I want to."
"I don't want you to die."
"And I don't want you to die. I'm joining the Survey Corps."
"And I'm going to do everything in my power to stop you."
*End Flashback*
Mikasa came back with medical supplies. She checked Eren before wrapping mine and Armin's wounds. I smile, happy to be home.
