James's POV

I feel like I've been looking at Jaiden a bit differently lately. I must like her.. but how to tell her?

I sit there, thinking and tapping my finger on my chin.

I've got it!

I see Jaiden's hand laying on the table. She's staring off into space.

"Hey, we're the only ones out here!" I laugh

"Yeah, I noticed." She smiles

God, I love her smile

Focus, James! It's now or never.

I look at her and smile. "So.. how's life been treating ya?"

"Well, you know the majority of what's going on right now." she smiles

"Yeah, I guess"

Come on James! Stop stalling!

I put my hand on her's. She looks at our hands, then back at me. I smile awkwardly

"Jaiden-"

"Here is your chocolate chip muffin and your avocado toast." The waitress said, rudely interrupting us

I quickly pulled my hand away from Jaiden's

"Thanks" I said, annoyed

We ate in silence.

On the way back to Jaiden's I finally brought it up.

"Sorry." I said

"I know you just got your heart broken.. I just..-"

"Fell for me?" She said, looking at me.

We arrived at her house

I looked over at her "Yeah, you could put it that way.."
