It had been a week since Hogwarts had started, and James and Sirius had stayed away from Snape. To be completely honest, it was kind of nice. I didn't have to feel guilty about not taking away house points from my friends or anything, it made life a little better. But, like everything else, it got screwed up.
It was Tuesday morning, and I was reading a book while eating lunch. James and Sirius had joined me a couple of minutes before, when Lily walked by, holding Snape's hand. James lost it, and ran up to them. I had no choice but to follow Sirius, who was trying to catch up to James. We had finally caught up to James and Sirius said, "Hey Snivellus, holding your mummy's hand!"'
James laughed at Sirius's joke and yelled, "Ya Snivellus! Holding your mummy's hand are you?" James and Sirius laughed at their jokes, but Snape flushed red, and Lily's face was contorted with rage.
"How dare you? What did he ever do to you? And matter of fact, Severus just lost a family member! So, shut your dirty little mouths!!!" Lily yelled back at them. I just watched the group of them, the scene was causing a whole lot of attention. I could see Tonks running forward and stood by Lily's side. I couldn't help but think how beautiful she looked, even if she was absolutely furious.
Her hair was a vibrant red, and she wore her tie around it like a headband. She had her robes on and a pair of black vans on her feet. She looked perfect, but she was glaring straight at me. I could feel the blood rising to my cheeks, and I had the sudden urge to snap at someone. I hardly ever got that feeling. I looked away, and heard her say, "You guys are douches! All of you!! All three of you!"
That hit me and hurt like a blow to the stomach. It shouldn't haven't felt like that, but I knew then she didn't like me any more than a friend. I Don't Like Tonks! But, shit, I knew deep down I did, because that wouldn't have hurt that much if I didn't. I looked back at her, and I could see tears pricking her eyes. I turned my gaze to James and Sirius, who for the first time ever, were speechless.
"Come on guys, let's go," I said, and pulled James and Sirius back to the Gryffindor table. I could feel eyes boring into the back of me, and I walked out of the great hall. James and Sirius were close behind me.

"How dare she? She totally butted into our conversation!! James you should take at least 50 house points away from Hufflepuff for the way she treated us!!!" Sirius rambled on.
James smiled and said, "I think I will. She needs to learn a lesson." I then realized they were talking about Tonks. I turned on them and said, "Oh really? 50 points for telling the truth! Ya, that's real fair!"
I looked at them, anger was still flowing through me. James and Sirius looked at me in surprise, and James finally said, "Fine I won't take any points from her, but don't expect me to be so lenient with your girlfriend next time."
Sirius smiled a bit at James, and said, "We need to do a giant prank on Snivellus, or else he might think he can run away from us every time we pick on him." I glared at them, and they both smiled at me.
"We need somebody who is really smart and knows how to make up fabulous plans," James said, and smiled even broader at me.
"I'm not going to make up a prank for you two," I said. That just made them smile even bigger.
