Damien's POV
"Hello this is Mary from the art school of New York and I would like to inform you that you have been accepted into the art school of New York. Congratulations!"

I dropped the phone on the ground. Elle was in the shower and I didn't want to disturb her, so I picked up the phone. We had been dating for 5 months and we told eachother everything, or at least that's what I thought.

I heard the shower turn off and about 3 minutes later I saw her walk into her room.

I bursted in the door. Elle was wearing a robe with a towel wrapped around her head.

"We need to talk." I said with a very firm voice.
"I picked up the phone a few minutes ago. What is the art school of New York ."

Elle's POV
My heart dropped. I promised that I wouldn't keep secrets from Damien, but I wanted to see if I could get in.
"I just wanted to see if I got in."
I saw Damien get angry, I have never seen him like this.
"What about Smosh, what about your friends," he slowed down, "what about us"
"I don't know, did I get in though."

Damien seemed madder than ever. "Is that really what your worried about Elle!" "Are you more worried if you got in to a school than with work and us." "You are being so selfish!"

My face felt burning red. Tears streamed down my cheeks. Damien's voice got weaker. "I don't want you to leave." "Why would you never tell me."
I laid down on the couch. Damien sat next to me and wrapped his arms around me.
"I'm sorry Damien I have to take this opportunity.

Damien broke down. I had never seen him cry before. "So, so what, your just done with smosh and working there, are you done with us?"

"Damien I'm going to New York, I can't see you that many miles away. Damien couldn't handle it anymore. He left my house and slammed the door behind him.

I can't believe I got in. Only 100 people get in. It was just an experiment. But now that I know I made it, I have to take this opportunity.

I got ready for what would be my last day at work.

Time skip~
I walked in to see Boze running to me. "This can't be your last day, you didn't even tell us anything." Her voice sounded concerned, I have never seen her this serious about something.
"Your really leaving."
"Yeah, I'm sorry." I wanted to have my full attention on Boze, but I couldn't stop looking over at Damien. He wasn't crying or anything, but he looked down at his hands, playing with them. I could tell he was trying to stay strong.
Another time skip~
The day was almost over. I had filmed the most that I ever work in one day. The last video we filmed was a goodbye. I let the fans know that this wasn't the last of me. Because Ian let me know that as soon as I was finished with school, I was welcome to come back. But that is years from now. Who knows what will happen to Smosh. I finished packing my things and put the last thing in the box beside me. A picture of all of us at winter games. I was going to miss this place, but this school could change my life.

I put the picture into the box. It was almost 9, so everyone had already left. I picked up the box with my things and head out. I turned around to see Damien. I dropped the box and ran over to him.

"So this is it," he didn't even make eye contact. My heart sunk to the floor.
"Yeah."

"Listen, if somehow you come back to California and we are both single, I'm always here" Damien said. I turned around.

"I would like that."  I left before I would regret going. I was leaving everything behind, and for once, living on my own.

I drove to Courtney's house. It didn't even feel right to call it ours. Courtney was there for me when I needed her most. And now I'm leaving her again. I didn't deserve her as a friend.

I got to her house and packed the last of my things. Courtney walked out of the kitchen, silent.

"I'll miss you," She said. A tear fell off of her cheek.

I ran over her and submerged her in a hug.

"I'm not leaving for good, we'll still FaceTime all the time." I reassured her. We hugged for about 5 minutes until we let go.

"Well you better get to sleep, you have an early flight tomorrow." She said.

"I can always sleep on the plane. Tonight is for us." I said.

That night was one of the best nights of my life. We hadn't had this much fun in years. Just the two of us. We pigged out, confessed, and binged Netflix. The night was finally coming to an end. It was 6am and the Uber was coming in 30 minutes.
~
I had said my goodbyes to Courtney. That last night we had made it harder to say goodbye. But I did it. I stepped out of the Uber with my things. I got to my section with plenty of time to spare. I plugged in my charger and was set until the plane boarded.
~1 hour later
"Flight 103 is now boarding, please grab your things and hand you info to the lady on your left."

This was it. I got on the plane and settled. As the plane flew in the air I couldn't help but think about how much California had helped me and how I was leaving it so fast.
~

I stepped off of the plane. I left the apartment and an hour later I was in the streets looking at the bright lights. I was alone in New York. I knew no one.

"Hello is this dorm 47?" I asked the girl in the room.

"Yes, are you Elle?" She said. Her voice was warm and welcoming.

"I am."
