Eliza POV

I looked through the window, waiting for Theodosia to finally get back home. The storm was approaching. Quick.

It would be a bad storm, at least compared to the usual small rainfall. There would be thunder and lightning, heavy rain, and possibly power outages.

I silently wished the storm hadn't happened over the weekend, but instead, during the week. They'd probably get a day off. Just then, Theodosia walked in.

"Babe! You're finally here! I was afraid you wouldn't make it!" I exclaimed.

"I only made it because the thought of you kept me going."

"Awww."

John POV

The storm had begun.

I sat in the living room doodling, while Alex... well he was just in his room. I enjoyed the sound of large winds and heavy rain, it gave me a sense of creativity. That was, until I heard a soft sob coming from Alex's room. Curious, I leaned against the door to listen.

When he wasn't choking on tears, he was cursing very quietly. I couldn't stand hearing it, so I knocked on his door.

"Hey, is everything alright?" I asked.

Silence filled the air. I knew he heard me. I was about to walk away when a crash of thunder banged through my ears, and I heard a shuffle.

Wanting to know what the hell was going on, I barged in.

I found him curled up in a ball on his bed. Tears were running down his face, and he was shaking badly.

"Are you okay?!" I asked.

"...y-yeah"

I knew he was lying. It was pretty obvious he was scared. I walked over to him and sat on the bed, next to him.

"Want any water?"

"Sure..."

I got up and headed towards the kitchen. Grabbed a cup, and poured some water into it. After that, I walked back to Alex's room and handed it to him. By now, he was sitting up.

"Th-thanks."

"No problem."

After he was finished, sat the cup on his side table.

"I'm sorry." He apologized.

"For what?" I asked.

"For y-you having to deal with me..."

This made me sorta sad, knowing he had no reason to apologize, yet he did. I guess I felt really gay, because I grabbed his arm, and held him. Like, in my freaking arms, because that time he was conscious. His face turned a bright red, but he seemed totally fine with it.

"When I was seventeen... a hurricane came. It destroyed what I had left." He said bluntly.

"Well-"

"My father left. My mother died. My brother died. My cousin died. Everyone left. I'm just afraid you'll leave too..." He said sadly.

"I would never leave you, as long as I live."

I guess reality sunk in at that very moment, because both of our faces turned red. When he looked away, I studied his face.  The pink was a light shade now, making him even cuter.

He noticed that the storm was finally over, lightly smiling.

"Well I should be going now..." I said, getting up.

"No! Sta- I mean... bye I g-guess." He stuttered.

"Do you want me to stay?"

"...Sure..."

I sat back down next to him, but I was looking away now. When he leaned against me, I freaked the fuck out. Did he like me back?!

I was about to say something, when I heard his soft snore.

He. Had. Fallen. Asleep. Next. To. Me.

His face was still slightly flushed, bringing out his fair skin. He was too fucking admirable. Soon, I was asleep too.

Alex POV

I woke up with arms wrapped around me. I didn't know who it was, so I looked up. And holy fucking shit, It was John. Shirtless, might I add.

I had no idea what the hell I was supposed to do. You know, it isn't every day that you wake up in bed next to your roommate. I ended up just going back to sleep. Might as well let John deal with it.

***

I woke up again two hours later, this time though, there was no John. I got up and stumbled to the door.

I walked out and looked for John. He was on the couch, working on some drawing.

"H-Hey..." I stuttered.

"Oh hi! Are you feeling better?"

"Yeah." I answered, sitting down next to him.

We just kinda sat there after that, it was horribly awkward. I was about to say something when he got a text. I trued not to make eye contact as his intelligent eyes read through it.

"Hey, wanna go grab something to eat with some of my friends?" He asked.

"Sure."
