John POV

"Alright! You can open your eyes now!" Alex exclaimed.

I opened my eyes to see the best gift ever. A turtle.

"Oh my god! I love him! How did you know I wanted a turtle?" I asked.

"Umm... I don't know! Maybe the fact you draw them, talk about them, and watch documentaries about them all the time!" He said sarcastically.

"Ah, that makes sense. What should I name him?" I responded.

"Hmm... what kind of name do you like?" He replied.

"Philip!" I exclaimed.

"That's perfect!"

We played with him for a few hours before we both realized we were starving, and decided to go grab something to eat. Then, we went to the pet store to get all sorts of things he'd need.

Theodosia POV

"Here! I have a gift for you!" I said, gesturing towards a box wrapped in pink and red patterned paper.

"Ooo, what could it possibly be~?" Eliza questioned.

"Oh. My. Fucking. God. It's a kitten!" She squealed.

A small calico kitten jumped out of the box, stumbling towards me.

"Awww, what do want to name her?" I asked.

"Hmm... Theodosia Jr.!" She exclaimed.

Theodosia Jr. seemed to love it, because she stumbled back over to Eliza, licking her cheek. Eliza and I squealed in excitement.

"Let's take her to a pet store so we can spoil the shit out of her!" Eliza exclaimed.

"Hell yeah!" I agreed.

Eliza POV

"Aww, look at this toy Theo- Alex?! What are- and John too?! What are you guys doing here?" I asked.

"Alex bought me a turtle~!" John exclaimed.

"Ooo! What's his name?" Theodosia said.

"Philip! Oh, and why are you here?" John replied.

"Theo got me a cat! We're gonna make her super fat and it's gonna be the cutest shit ever!"

John and Alex laughed as we talked about our new pets. Once we finished doing all that, we all went to their dorm and let the pets play while we watched movies about sad romance. What better way to spend Valentines Day?

Hah that rhymes

Aaron POV

Cold, misty air filled my lungs as I walked down the street. I was spending Valentines Day alone, like I always did. Nobody seemed to love me, and I had gotten used to that. These thoughts continued to go through my head until I ran into someone, or something.

"Oh! I'm so, so sorry! I wasn't watching where I was going and I just-" I cut off a voice I had never heard.

"Talk less... Smile more- oh wait! Did that come off as creepy? Cause I mean-" this time the girl cut me off.

"You're one to talk. Take my hand." She said.

Great. You meet a girl and you're already being awkward. Good job Aaron. I took her hand, and she helped me up.

"Anyway, I'm Sally! And you are...?" She asked.

"Oh! Umm... I'm Aaron Burr!" I introduced myself.

"Oh! The Aaron Burr? Like, Aaron Burr, Sir?" She exclaimed.

"Oh no! You've already heard the nickname?" I replied sarcastically.

"Haha, so which lucky girl is your Valentine?" She asked.

"I uh, don't have one." I answered, awkwardly doing finger guns.

"Me neither. I lost my man because he was in love with another guy." She said, returning the gesture.

We continued talking about how sad our lives are, soon losing track of time.

"Oh uh, I should be heading back to my place..." She mumbled.

"Oh! I'll walk you there!" I exclaimed.

"That'd be nice." She smiled fondly.
