Storm

Rain fell from grey clouds that covered the usually bright blue sky. The sound of cartoons the television emitted didn't make any difference to the noise of rain hitting the window panes of Jimin's apartment, not even when he turned the volume up slightly. Thunderstorms terrified Jimin, even more so when he was in little space. When he was big he could somewhat deal with them, even found them therapeutic from time to time, however the cries that left his chapped lips every time the sound of roaring thunder echoed throughout his living room was enough to give away that jimin needed someone, and he needed them now. The only problem was he didn't have anyone. Sure, he could call his boyfriend, Yoongi, but he wouldn't be able to force himself out of little space, especially not at a time like this, and Yoongi is the last person Jimin wants to know about this lifestyle.

He tried to avert all of his attention away from the scary storm outside to the cartoons he had playing in front of him, he tried to focus on his favourite characters and the obnoxiously bright colours that normally brought him so much joy. Admittedly, he found himself getting lost within the songs and the cheery laughs of the characters, but that came to a quick end when a loud clap of thunder sent Jimin running to his bedroom, salty tears running down his rosy cheeks. He dived under his covers, pulling his navy sheets up to his ears in order to attempt to muffle out some of the sounds, which didn't help much. It was just too loud for his liking.

"W-want Yoonie," the little cried into his sheets, his pacifier dropping to the mattress when he spoke. Choked sobs slipped past his lips as he tried to calm himself down, reaching for the stuffed bear he had resting on his pillow. He hugged it tightly to his chest, burying his face in the soft fur of the bears head, eyes squeezed shut.

He found himself drifting to sleep with the bear trapped in his arms when his phone started to vibrate on his bedside table. It took his a few moments to register where the soft buzzing was coming from, but jumped up immediately when he realised; he couldn't answer the phone like this! He can't talk to big people when he's not in the right headspace to have grown up conversations!

Nonetheless, he reached for the device, after all, it could be something important. Jimin's eyes lit up as he read the contact on the screen, his best friend was calling! He wiped his eyes and nose before pressing the green answer button, holding the phone close to his ear.

"Ggukie!" Jimin exclaimed, earning a chuckle from his best friend.

"Hi, Jiminie. Are you okay? The storm is extra loud tonight," Jeongguk asked the little with a gentle voice, knowing how he must have been feeling. He has a little of his own that reacts the same as Jimin in storms, and he's witnessed Jimin like this enough times to know to always comfort him.

"No, 'm scared an' Yoonie not here," Jimin sniffled into the phone, tears brewing at his eyes at the mention of his boyfriends name.

"Oh jiminie, would you like to have a playdate with TaeTae whilst the storm is going on?"

"TaeTae? Oh, yes please, Uncle Ggukie!" Jimin was now sitting upright on his bed, now rather excited that he was going to spend time with Taehyung, his best friend.

"Well we're on our way now, do you think you could unlock the door for us?" Jeongguk asked again, the sound of the radio playing softly in the background of the phone call, indicating that he was, in fact, already on his way.

"Yes of course Uncle Ggukie! Can't wait to see TaeTae!" Jimin giggled, earning another soft chuckle from Jeongguk.

"Okay, Jimin, I'll see you in a few, okay? We'll be there soon," the younger smiled into the phone, knowing how excited Jimin must be.

"Bye bye Uncle Ggukie!" Jimin grinned before ending the call and placing his phone back on his bedside table, placing his pacifier back into his mouth and smiling around the plastic, the sound of the rain not making him quite so scared anymore, not with the knowledge he'll see his two best friends soon.
