skylar's pov

this school is huge. i had my tour yesterday around the whole entire campus and i love it here. there are many windows which showed the pond outside from the inside. the interior and exterior design of the university is very modern and new. my favourite thing about this place is that there are countless palm trees around the school.

today is my first official day at my brand new school and i'm pretty excited to meet new people, but also sort of nervous at the same time as well.

i am currently sitting down on the light green grass by the school pond with evelyn. i was snapping pictures of her with my photography camera. it's pretty old, but it still works perfectly.

i love photography. it's actually the course i'm taking. i love capturing special and unforgettable moments. i carry my camera everywhere with me. anything that catches my eye, i always have to take a photograph of it.

the first bell rang, indicating that class starts in exactly five minutes. i place my camera inside my backpack and get up, wiping the excess dirt off my butt. i help evelyn up and she does the same.

we both part and i make my way to my locker to get my things i need for first period.

i look down at my watch to check the time.

"great. two minutes left before class starts and i'm already gonna be late on my first day." i tell myself.

"you new?" a muscular voice spoke behind me.

the boy startled me a little which caused me to jump.

"i'm sorry, did i frighten you?" he asks, adding a chuckle.

i turn around and meet with a guy with blue ocean eyes.

"yeah, a little." i giggle, nervously.

"sorry about that. anyways, the name's alex." he smirks.

i cringe in the inside. player alert. "skylar." i smile.

"nice to meet you, skylar." he replies.

"nice to meet you too, alex." i retort and shut my locker door shut, holding all my things with me. "catch you later." i continue, waking past him.

"wait, don't you want me to walk you to class or something? i mean it is your first day." alex questions.

"not a chance, alex!" i smile, making my way to wherever my class is.

"alright, see you later then." he answers, awkwardly.

"bye, alex." i roll my eyes and chuckle.

"i think someone just flirted with me on my first day." i tell evelyn as we sat down by the pond. i took out a banana from my backpack and peeled the peel off.

"what?" evelyn laughs. "do you know by who?" she asks, sounding interested.

"yeah, i think his name was alex." i say.
