Human Error

Chapter 5

"Should we wake them up?" James asked.  Lily nodded.
"Go ahead. Breakfast's done."
James smiled down at the two boys.  They were in the same position as last night, except Sirius' hand had fallen into Remus'. James' smile turned into a grin. He had no problem with waking them up because he knew just how flustered they would be.

Remus made his way to his room, dragging his hand along the wall. He walked in his room and closed the door behind him. Knowing Sirius had most definitely packed his swim trunks, he dug around in his suitcase for them. He brought them out with a smile. He thought of the day he got them. It was a shopping trip with James and Sirius. They'd been arguing about which pair to get. Sirius wanted a pair with dogs, James wanted the pair with books on it. Remus offered to buy both, and after a lot more arguing, they agreed.  However,  when he brought them home, James had Lily cut both pairs in half and sew them together. Remus stripped and slid them on.  He went to grab a shirt to cover the scars that riddled his torso, but he heard his door burst open.

"Moony!" Sirius exclaimed walking into his room. Remus dropped his shirt, gaping at Sirius. Sirius stopped as his eyes traveled down to Remus' torso, bouncing from scar to scar. Sirius walked over to him slowly. He placed his hand on Remus' chest, tracing his scars. Sirius moved his hand and gently placed it over Remus' heart. They stood like that for a few minutes, staring at eachother. Sirius suddenly got an idea. He smiled and grabbed Remus' hand, dragging him to his room. He dug around before pulling out one of his many tanktops. He put it on Remus and looked him up and down.
"Now you're punk rock!" Sirius exclaimed.  Remus looked down at the Guns n' roses tanktop over his mismatched swimming trunks.
"I totally am. "

Remus and Sirius made it down to the lake with James and Lily.  James was in the lake while Lily sat on the edge of the water.
"Hey, guys," James yelled,"come on in!"
Sirius smirked and looked at Remus, waiting on him to jump in first. Remus shook his head.
"Come on, Remmy. Have some fun," he whined. Remus opened his mouth to object but was pushed into the water.
"Wait, Sirius, he can't swim!" Lily yelled, right before he hit the water. He heard a second splash as he began flailing in the water. He felt the water entering his lungs, but then he felt a pair of strong arms around him.  He resurfaced and panted, regaining his breath. He opened his eyes and saw Sirius right in front of him. They both wrapped their arms around each other, breathing heavily and soaking wet.
