Lyric of the chapter:
"You're in my muscle memory and you're in my bones. A world without you is a world I don't wanna know." - Old Habits Die Hard (Allie X)

"Huh?" Remus asked looking over at Sirius. Sirius just turned his head towards the sky.
"Nothing."

James headed down to the kitchen to get a snack while Lily was in the shower. He turned the corner and to his surprise, saw Sirius Black next to a mountain of beer bottles (which he assumed he'd gone out and bought). He sat down next to him.
"Hey, Padfoot, what's up?"
Sirius took a sip of his beer.
"I'm an idiot. A lovesick idiot."
James frowned, "What happened?"
Sirius gave a sour laugh.
"He didn't hear me. I practically confessed and he didn't hear me."
James's frown deepened. He wanted to help him, but he knew how Sirius is while he's drunk. It'd probably be best to leave him alone.

Lily rolled over and checked the clock with a yawn. It was roughly three in the morning. She stumbled out of bed and down the stairs. After going to the bathroom, she went to get a glass of water. She noticed the porch light was on and as she went to turn it off, she saw a silhouette walking around the lake. She was about to freak out and grab a knife but she recognized it as Remus. With a sigh of relief, she headed out to go talk to him.
"Hey," she said, walking next to him. He gave her a nod. She looked around them as they walked.
"Aren't you scared being out here by yourself?"
He looked up, "I've loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night."
Lily raised her eyebrow.
"Sarah Williams," he said. Lily nodded.
"So what are you doing out here?" she asked. He sighed.
"I couldn't sleep so I came out here. Now I've just been thinking."
"About?" Lily asked. Remus gave her a look. She gave a sigh of her own.
"You need to tell him."
"I know. But it's not that easy."
She nodded.
"You'll find the right time."
Remus just shook his head.
